My guess is that you will never see flying until late in an expansion unless they start adding "flying only " zones as was done in previous expansions where flying was permitted at max level.
The current design seems to be based on no-flying and as for myself, I donāt have any issue with that design. Getting around is easy, especially this expansion, so Iām not missing flying at all.
Iām one they lost. I tried it for about three weeks and really couldnāt find much I that I liked about the game. Of course Iām not a Final Fantasy fan so that likely didnāt help.

wpvp is doing just fine in places where there is flying.
Flying isnāt going to hurt it in bfa. On the contrary it should help it and hopefully we get less bellyaching about fps being camped.

Not sure why they donāt disable flight if you have Warmode turned on. Seems simple enough. It would also make for one of those āmeaningful decisionsā they like to talk about.

I donāt see why they would even consider removing flight in the greater world for warmode. If people want that experience they have instanced pvp, battlegrounds, arena, etc.

Itās one of the commonly used arguments for keeping flight out of the game. World PvP has been a dead issue forever. Weāre only seeing a small resurgence because Blizzard baited that trap with a 30% bonus. People arenāt doing it strictly for the fun of it, theyāre just cashing in. Like the Tortollan quests that they baited with rings and trinkets.

What difference does it make in the end why people turn warmode on? The people who enjoy wpvp are turning it on regardless of the others who are only doing it for the bonus. And if they remove the bonus there will still be people using warmode because they like it.

Remove the bonus and see what happens. Before the bonus what kind of shape was WPvP in? Hell, I still donāt see it on my realm, just a lot of people running around flagged for a bonus.
This is not bait and switch. What they did in Warlords, telling us at BlizzCon that flying would be release in 6.1 and then saying we wouldnāt have flying. That was bait & switch. I prefer this model to having to pay 10,000 gold for 20 different characters.

You would generally earn more than enough gold just leveling those characters through the new expansion.

There was no flying in Vanilla.
Classic is a rehash of Vanilla.
There is no flying until you get to 60 in retail.
Classic only goes to level 60.
Therefore no flying in classic.
Continue to whine about people whining. Itās productive.

Yeah and I want to spend it on flying? NOT. Also, I took a level 78 toon to Legion Dalaran and I could fly, that isnāt something the old model allowed you to do.
BC you had to wait until 70, Wrath 77, Panda 90.
I know it is so hard to use the flight whistle and , hearth stone, and to ride those few extra feet to the quest areasā¦lolā¦such a chore to be on the groundā¦Maybe you can start a class action lawsuitā¦
Does that mean they can remove the guard buffs when flying goes in? That would help.
Flight paths, flight whistle, hearth stone, stealth, feign death, vanish, mob tether/leash etc all negate the reasons given for no flight; āWe want you to experience the content as designedā and āPvP derpā.
We already are able to avoid anything we wish, flight isnāt and never was a āproblemā.
