Best solution Ive seen was to remove hands from keyboard and mouse then yell “Alexa cast Feign Death!”.
No because spell batching is broken.
At this point I’m guessing “no”.
It actually not.
What the op does not realize and many of you either but feign death always had a chance not to work and to be ignored by mobs.
People like to blame spell batching. They forget that their is a chance that abilities like feign death/vanish get resited and mobs just see right through you.
Lol no one is complaining about feign death being ‘resisted’, we all know that is possible. Feign death trapping sometimes just does not work because of batching.
Than it got resisted. Not that hard. Has nothing to do with batching.
If it gets resisted it literally says resisted in red text. You have no clue what you are talking about
Seems some people get it to work, and others don’t.
I do not play a hunter but every raid one of ours kites a mob to some degree, and their feign death always works. I think the majority of the problem is people are popping it and not waiting for combat to drop. Its not instant due to spell batching, you can’t just feign and wake up inside one GCD. You gotta wait.
Could be totally wrong though, but with how most hunter mains seem to play like they have ADD or something, I wouldn’t put being impatient off the list.
The blue post about it would disagree.
Case closed. The level 50 warrior confirmed that it’s a user error and we’re all bad.
Can we get a blue to go ahead and lock this post/sticky it?
ActiBlizz broke FD, like some have said, any movement and it will fail. Trap placement is more difficult as well (I have the macro, it does not work anything even close to how it was in Original™). It is why hunters scatter shot then place a trap now. You need seconds of your char and pet not getting put into combat (plus no movement by your char).
Since it has not been fixed yet, it will never be fixed. Pretty sure they nerfed hunters since this and some other minor differences (changes?) that could easily be fixed, have not been.
It is very annoying, but it is what it is.
Most hunters don’t realize that their pet tethers them to combat.
So if you pull pet away from combat (passive with follow) FD will usually work.
But you have to watch out for things like, dot damage/debuffs you apply or is applies to you/your pet, being healed/buffed by someone in combat, aoe effects, exc. As all of these can put you back into combat.
If you don’t want to pet control during a fight because you will need to use FD trap for mechanical purposes it is sometimes better to not have a pet out or let it die early, just to make the traps more reliable.
Resists do happen but sometimes the issue isn’t even the spell not even going off, sometimes it’s because of other effects tethering the hunter into combat.
Yep. I plan to be a ranged survival hunter because a little ways down the tree is being able to spend points into making that ability less likely to be resisted. Less likely, not completely.
A lot of people like to joke that being specced a certain way may not be “big numbers”, but I always believed in utilizing my resources rather than being some “amazing dps”. I’ve always been that support role player.
Not everytime. Even kn vanilla it did not always say that.
Leave it alone. Mages already have enough tools in their arsenal for pretty much everything you could ever ask for. Slows not proccing occasionally or taking a second longer is not a huge deal.
FD resist is only against mobs I am pretty sure. I don’t ever remember a resist against players.
Not sure what you’re talking about, mages are extremely weak. They are only formidable when they dont get jumped on.
Lol ok… lets see here. Mana shield, ice block(x2), teleport, frost nova, cold snap, cone of cold, arcane explosion, polymorph… no other class has nearly this amount of extremely versatile and powerful tools.
If you think mages are “extremely weak” even when being jumped, then you are playing them wrong.
This is an interesting take.
