Are these Souls Sacrificed or Not?

Haha, I meant it as a reference to the “Spy Game” mini-boss in Court of Stars dungeon. Once you accuse the right person, they ask to discuss this in private, take you to a balcony, and reveal themselves as a dreadlord.

Matriarchal societies are just as bad as Patriarchal ones… the roles are simply being reversed. And as I’ve repeatedly pointed out a truly matriarchal society would not have so many male leaders through it’s history. In fact the noteworthy males pretty much equal the noteworthy females in just about every point in history.

There is no “glass ceiling” for males in Night Elf society, there may be gender predominant roles, but they aren’t absolute and the exceptions, i.e. male Priests, female Druids aren’t shown to be given any particular grief.

What you did have in WC3 was more of an influence in patriarchy especially in the fetish ways females were dressed all the way up to the first Warcraft cinematic. It was a dress style influenced more by American Patriarchy than anything else. Maybe some folks here are too young to remember just how awful the armor situation used to be for female characters in this game.

This is pretty much what it used to be like for gals in the bad old days.

I think the implication there is that the souls go into the seed to nourish it with their anima. So they’re double-dead which makes them dead-dead like Arthas.

Didn’t realize this was a necro.

The only bad thing about it is that it was one-sided, let both genders be treated equally. There should be revealing armor and practical armor and the little in-between. And then let the players decide how they interact with it.

In BFA both Female and Male NEs had the skimpy archer gear… and there is nothing wrong with that.

Boy Beefcake for the Win!

If you watched the end of “The Good Place” this is not necessarily a bad thing.

Eternity in even the best of Heavens can get wearisome eventually.

Since Night Elf souls can become wisps after death and Elune was involved in this situation, I do not think that the Night Elf souls have been sacrificed. What’s also interesting is that I think some of these souls were people who died in the Burning of Teldrassil.

I don’t think it’s either. The Night Elves have wisps that exist after death, the Emerald Dream, an afterlife and their dominant religion is henotheistic worship of the goddess Elune (who is the most powerful being encountered so far in the Warcraft universe)… followed by that of the Wild Gods. And both are capable of resurrection to varying degrees.

Recent history has not supported that contention.

Winter Queen gave them a choice, to stay in her realm 4ever, or to regrow. They choose to regrow.
As any other souls that we have regrow in her realm we have needed a seed. For Tyrande Winter Queen gave some special seed that manage to gather all the souls.

My best guess is that if Tyrande will plant that seed, all the souls will become a childrens. And finally after ~20 years of the game Night Elves will also have children models.

But, knowing that Blizzards are Night Elves haters, after Tyrande will plant that seed, location will be down into the Nightmare, and all the souls will become soldiers of Xavius army. And we will have to kill them probably together with our ally Sylvanas.

yes, escaping samsara is the true goal.

It wasn’t contention until that horrible retcon in Shadowlands. Elune should’ve been one of the First Ones, not some “SiSteR of ThE WinTeR QueEn”.

No it was proven in The War of Thorns when at the time of her people’s greatest need, the only thing Elune could do for them was to enable them to sleep as the flames consumed them. Which is not something that you’ll even be aware of as a survivor unless you find out later as a member of the Night Fae Covenant.

Elune has always been constrained in power. She can’t even operate during the day.

About the second part… we see Elune’s power work during the day several times. The cleansing of Elune’s Tear after Ysera’s death (a lunar eclipse that still happened during the day), Moonwells aren’t dependent on time of day to work and I don’t think all of her feats in the War of the Ancients happened at night.

That was during an eclipse. The eclipse needed to happen before Elune could do anything, she’s essentially balked by The Sun.

Elune turns a Satyr back into a Night Elf in Ashenvale. Time of day makes no difference in that quest.

You know, someone on Twitter mentioned you.

Does this count as “Anti-night elf?”

I mean who cares what a bunch of people on twitter, who have nothing better to do than talk about people on the story forum think?

I’m just letting someone know that they were being talked about.

That’s good. Stay vigilant hun :grinning:

If that is defined as going against the narrative of the Night Elf Player Victim Brigade, I’m guilty as charged. I could not possibly care less about what they say about me on whatever Discord they gather much less Twitter.

I’ve heard of the Satyr reversion but I either missed that quest or forgot about it.

I’m pretty sure however that the Champion did most of the heavy lifting.

Future customization bait for when night elves get not-sylvari.
