Are there really DPS players out there that think interrupts are a healer's job?

NO HEALER. “HAS TO DPS”.

A person that is healing and dpsing is called a SUPPORT CLASS…

Blizzard doesn’t have support class. It isn’t a role.

SO TO ALL YOU DPS OUT THERE GET BETTER AND QUIT WHINING YOUR HEALER AINT DPSING.

you want a role that has support for healing and dpsing as a normal thing. Go whine to the devs.

If you have an interrupt you should be actively watching things to interrupt regardless of role. I play a tauren priest healer and have no actual counter but I still use my fear, chastise, and warstomp anytime it’s needed. That doesn’t mean DPS should rely solely on me but instead means they should be doing the same thing. Any good player already does those things.

I spend more time doing damage than healing in keys because that’s just sort of how it works right now.

In basically anything other than leveling dungeons, yeah, they do.

No one’s saying it should be their focus, but they’re more than capable of doing some…and should.

As a DPS I would not expect interrupting to be on the healer but as a healer I’ve learned EVERY mechanic is a healer mechanic. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Imo, I think everyone has a job to interrupt.

On my mistweaver and resto shaman I usually do more interrupts than the dps. But that’s because I don’t want to heal the damage that happens when stuff isn’t interrupted. Resto shaman should probably have the most interrupts throughout a dungeon because wind shear is amazing.

This sir is a winning strategy.

A party of ‘that’s not my problem’ people are doomed to have a very bad run.

That’s 10% the tanks responsibility
30% the healers responsibility
And 70% the DPS responsibility.

The majority of deaths are due to failed mechanics, interrupts, and insuffcient utilization of DR CR’s

Healer can’t heal through a 1.5 million dmg one shot on a dps. Going from 100% to 0, in 0.02 seconds

Again. NO HEALER HAS TO DPS.

THAT IS NOT THEIR ROLE.

SO DONT EXPECT IT AND WHINE WHEN IT DOESNT HAPPEN.

As long as they’re fine with me not healing myself then. That’s not my job, according to you.

Hard to take you seriously or think you’re not intentionally being obtuse when you type in all caps though.

First I’ve heard that.

I see and hear about this a lot in key groups. In some cases, it makes sense but in most of them it doesn’t. I think it’s largely affix dependent in these cases…

Glad you aren’t my healer.

Have a lovely day my friend

I think the biggest joke is this simple question.

Would you rather: Push one button and stop 500k~2 million damage from happening?
Or: Die and blame someone else.

Because that’s what interrupts come down to when they matter because after a certain point, you don’t just “heal through” missed interrupts, you just die. Being in the habit of pushing buttons to prevent death is everyone’s job and is better learned early rather than later.

Don’t encourage bad habits in group content because it will come back to bite you if you ever try something harder.

DH/Paladin tanks will have the most interrupts. Followed by melee DPS. Other interrupts would be spread among ranged with short CD interrupts, healers, then ranged with long CD interrupts.

There are also dps who expect healers to do dps as well as heals because the dps players are too bad to get good. They even have some healers brain washed to believe it.

OP plays resto sham and complains about having to interrupt

Good healers are always pushing buttons without mindlessly overhealing, which means pushing buttons that deal damage during times of no or low incoming damage when healing isn’t necessary. Bad players (regardless of role) sit AFK waiting in group content.

It all depends on what youre doing tbh… In keys its really useful for me (the healer) to contribute via interruptuing (even dpsing) in case everyone else is on CD which does tend to happen… sometimes more than 1 dps will interrupt the same mob lmao so yes. Interrupting as healers is not far fetched at all.
