You could be right. SL is disappointing to play even though I am loving the story.
Prove youāre right with empirical data to back your assertion or admit your opinion is just that, opinion. There is nothing wrong with opinions, except when they are presented as fact without supporting evidence.
For a free game it makes tons more money than WoWā¦
When people are talking about how ābigā WoW is, they usually include revenue and player count. In that respect WoW barely registers.

WoW is about to enter a massive content drought in a very unpopular patch during a very unpopular expansion. FF14 has just gone mainstream and streamers are ditching WoW for it. On top of that, its most anticipated expansion is about to launch during said WoW content drought, etc.
FF14 will overtake WoW soon if it hasnāt already. The lack of ādataā that you require only enables your coping. The games are rather similar in popularity right now and on opposite trajectories.
Is this all you have to offer as empirical data. Please Google the term empirical data. Until you have actual data instead of speculation we are done here.
Iām right there with you. Iām still totally enjoying the game. And I really enjoy Korthia. Iām not making it a grind, just playing normally and when I get there Iāll get there. No rush, not competing with anyone else.
You speculate quite a lot in your posts. You have argued that FF14 has significantly fewer MAUs than WoW, for example. When you actually have no ādataā to prove that.
I guess thatās just the copium kicking in again. You donāt need data to believe what you want to, but you require that other people provide data to argue against what you want to believe.
It can be debated earnestly based on the data we have at our disposal. The argument could be wrong, but the data we have suggests it is not.
However, the key difference is I am not posting 3 times a day screaming that WoW is dead and another MMO has higher MAUās. There for I am not the one needing to supply evidence of my claim. In any forum of debate, the burden of proof lay on the accuser, in this case you.

- The Korthia gear has a much lower ceiling than was available in Legionand BfA, and the codex rep required to get the level 5/6 upgrades is extremely timegated. 2. Alts have an unskippable super boring Maw quest, the Covenant/renown grind and the Codex rep, which for casuals takes entirely too much time. Not very friendly.

We are fishing while reminiscing about the good old days.
The argument super casuals have always stated is they want gear progression. Blizzard literally gives you that and you complain itās not high enough. This means super casuals just want bis gear for doing solo content.
The cov renown grind takes like 3 days to get caught up.
The codex system is account wide at rank 6.
Casual here. I play to progress the story. Even it is not some super epic story but instead has some significant flaws
Iām getting more casual the longer this expansion draws out. Havenāt ran torghast in months, one mythic key for vault, and raid once or twice a week.
After all if 9.1 turns out like 9.0, weāll need to pace ourselves over the next 8months.

All the non-casuals I guess? I have no idea. 
Again, it appeals to way, like, way more people. And free games tend to make more money anyways.
Iām a casual since MoP, and I do everything solo unless to proceed through the story I have to do a dungeon.
Some of the grinding can be a pain, but I still do it for the rewards.
For me the word casual means I donāt raid, or do Mythic +. Thatās about it.
