cant believe people are so bad they’re accusing the next man of cheating
100k on a single pack is easily achievable
one person is putting in the effort wrong? the other isnt
plus healing needed is a finite #. if healer a is doing 150k hps and healer b is doing 17k hps then healer a is covering most of the damage
Both people could be trying hard, but if one person has better gear and is using the correct abilities in the correct order, that person is going to do a lot more damage. It’s all about being efficient with your time spent in combat.
Kinda like taking Slam upgrades on a Fury Warrior:
- Crushing Force x2 +60% Slam damage and +15% Critical Strike
- Barbaric Training +20% Slam damage and +10% Critical Strike damage
- Storm of Swords +100% Slam damage, generates +10 Rage, adds a 12s CD
Resultant ability: +180% Slam damage, +15% Critical Strike chance, +10% Critical Strike damage, generates +10 Rage, 12s CD…
That’s a pretty considerable series of upgrades… Just that it costs… 4 talent points to realize…
100K ST on a good ST class is very possible, 250K AOE on a good AOE class is very possible, hell I can even do 250K on this dude who is only 405 iLVL.
17K is also very possible for players who have no idea WTF is going on and don’t want to press the right buttons, or use the right talents, or even know how to play. I’ve seen players whine about low DPS, but just play really bad.
The difference between a poorly timed The Hunt and a well timed The Hunt for a Demon Hunter is about fourfold. Normally it wiffs for about 40k, but because of how a few specific talents work, if you line it up with all DH self buffs it swings for north of 150k.
While spec and gear choice do matter, the reality is that there’s a stark contrast between a good player and a bad player.
So, you default to “are they cheating?” instead of “are they better than me at the game?”
Regardless of all other variables, 99% of the time, the player that can play the spec/class optimally will out perform the player that cannot.
I main a hunter, specifically mm (mainly). My AoE damage ranges from 100k-350k, depending on X amount of variables.
If there’s a big group like the mobs before tree boss in Academy, then, yeah, this toon can pull around 100k dps. It’s partly the gear but it’s mostly how many enemies get hit.
When I first started playing wow, and people were using addons I was like my God, why are you letting a computer play the game for you and considered it cheating, but when I realized EVERYONE does it and DBM and Vent were mandatory for raiding, I had to accept that this was just how things are
(Vent is now Discord these days btw)
I mean hey! It’s a lot less sweaty if I run a little sim while I get a snack, come back and breeze through the place because my new build does 30% more damage for free with no extra thought on my part
Short awnser no.
Long answer, better gear. More optimized stats. Better understanding of their class. Difference in how some classes do damage some do better single target some do better aoe. Luck sometimes getting a hand full of lucky procs can really boost numbers.
But in terms of changing there damage using a hacking soft wear. No not at all.
Yes. Everyone who does more than me cheats.
Everyone who does less is a filthy scrub.
There really isn’t any way to cheat.
It’s not cheating. We have a strategy and we dont want to share it.
My warrior hit 200k on VotI trash lol.
Except addons never were playing the game for them? Addons operate in a sandbox they cannot control your character in any possible way, What is the difference between looking at a timer on a debuff in the top left corner of the screen that you have to purge.
Vs having it as a big icon in the center? Or a bar scrolling across the screen instead of numbers?
Inherently nothing.
What’s the difference between having a raid leader in voice sitting there counting something down vs just having a number on your screen so you don’t have to listen to them? Inherently nothing
And how is Voice chat playing the game for you?
This whole argument point and premise is utter nonsense and only pushed forward by those who lack any form of critical reasoning.
Because this one time…
A healer stopped healing using the excuse their addon was playing up.
That addon isn’t playing the game for them.
But people become so dependent on them they let them play the game for them a lot of the time.
