It’s not on a whim. Permanent bans aren’t dealt like they’re cookies.
If the offense is bad enough, even if it’s the first offense, they can and will fully delete your entire Bnet account and all progress across all Blizzard games attached to that account.

Perma banned means permanently closed account, yes. No reprieve, no grace period, no nothing.

I was perma banned on the forums in cataclysm or WoD. When I came back for BFA I petitioned to reverse my ban and they did.
Was never permanent banned in game though.
You usually don’t explain security systems to out lookers because it opens ways to circumvent said systems. The simple warning that it’s secured is enough.

Look up the definition of permanent… Should be the answer in the name not much to question there.

I used to be super toxic. Like really bad.
And then there was a sensitive subject where person a told person b to do something
I commented that person A shouldn’t say that because that’s crossing a line and not appropriate and i caught a ban.

Blizz prefers we stop doing things that break the rules, actually.
They’re not waking up excited about the prospect of banning people for screaming slurs or wishing harm in trade chat.

Yes, a perma ban is permanent. They do not overturn them unless the initial appeal at the time is sucessful.
No, they do not. A closure is done for a good reason and stays closed.

I have never known of anyone that got a perma ban who got their account back.
Being suspended isnt a perman ban.
There was a big time streamer who got his account permanently banned and despite the people lobbying for him to get it back and many many appeals he never did.
Permanent bans are forever.

If you have a ban, there is no time frame for appeal that you have to appeal in, but permaban’s are permanent unless an appeal is successful. If you reached max appeals it does not matter how long you wait. waiting a few years they do not suddenly be like okay well you learned your lesson here is your account back.
They don’t care.

Permanent Bans are permanent unless an appeal is successful or they change the rules regarding the action in question. They don’t wear off.

When I said “they don’t” I was replying to the statement about them perma banning on a whim. They don’t hand them out on a whim.
