No Era TBC is why I am not interested.
TBC is fun for the first few weeks but suffers from the same fate that anything TBC and onward suffers from: the lack of anything to do in the “sandbox” mode of the game. The same goes with SOD.
Layers and flying mounts kill any sort of friction that exists (especially on a pvp server). Friction motivates people to log on and do things in the game they dont HAVE to do, they are just doing it for fun. Politics. Drama. Beef. Whatever you want to call it. Any story worth telling in this game comes from that friction.
Pray for classic+
so weird to virtue signal this hard on the wow forums
Blizzard keeps making really regarded decisions that drive legitimate players that aren’t addicted to the game away.
The only reason I play this game is for the people I play it with.
Anniversary is by far the worst release of Classic including every single private iteration, even the hacked pay 2 win ones.
Kaivax is a complete tool who has no business communicating with anyone in a public forum.
Ion should never have been hired, he’s been coasting on his Elitist Jerk credentials for decades.
Maybe you’re projecting, maybe you’re coping. Either way, no one cares.![]()
If these forums aren’t for sharing both satisfaction and discontent with the services of a company we’ve funded for 20+ years, every person here is wrong.
to be fair, he was a pretty good raid dev. SL, DL, TWW now Midnight jsut showed maybe…that was his true calling in life. Legion while lead on paper/title wasn’t him. that was a walk in to a project wrapping up in late WoD.
Legion I’d give the outgoing lead credit on. that dude did the leg work when a whiteboard brain storm went to development when even MoP was wrapping up lol.
I know I slowly am…
Constantly having to spam Lf Layer, Layer, invite Layer, Layer, layer, layer just to get a daily done is a Pain in the you know what.
And then after that what do I have to look forward to a Tedious Heroic where Trash mobs hit like Dungeon Bosses?..
I’m not 10 anymore I got stuff to do, just like I am sure everyone else does. And having to creep slowly in a dungeon turning something that could be 30 mins into 45 mins adds up.
I won’t even talk about all the bots flying around collecting every node or sitting with their bot mafia on ever thing that drops mana.
Every version of Classic this current Development team works on turns out to be a utter failure… It gives me SOD and Nightmare incursion vibes on some of the things they decide to do.
Oh I agree. Anniversary is like one of the worst servers that have ever existed
You are like 2-3 weeks behind.
Welcome to gaming in 2026 where each experience is viewed as a transaction - you just got your recipept from the auto vending machine at McDonalds
TBC released then midnight and now OSRS leagues, there is only so many players.
Every game goes through ebbs and flows, a lot are controlled by streamers and they’re trying to push hardcore wow since retail and TBC are out of their honeymoon period.
Protip: don’t buy into the FOMO, it’s on purpose for you to “buy’“ and skip playing the game (grinding).
play what you want to play when you want to play don’t be forced to partake in unhealthy addictions
Believe it or not OP in 2026 there are probably 1 million different video games to play. Alot of people, once again, believe it or not do in fact play these other games. Prepatch and the first 4-5 weeks of any new phase is a big time investment, and then people go do other things. A good percentage of them won’t ever log back on, but they were never going to anyway. Or they will be back for ZA and sunwell if WOTLK anniversary is announced.
You gotta recruit like a hound to stay alive. People lose interest quickly in any early expansion. You gotta find the people that intend to stick around and that takes a lot of work.
I’ve been seeing quite a few people leveling alongside me. Maybe a lot of them are just rolling new toons? And I mean pre-tbc stuff.
how much of it was “original Ion” and how much of that was borrowed from the actual big brain members of EJ.
I was deep into the mage theorycrafting community on EJ forums back in original TBC and it was pretty common knowledge Ion was great at the logistics of organizing a raid but he was an idiot when it came to game knowledge.
Anybody who stops raiding because they’re full bis deserves to lose their spot.
That’s up to their guild decide
This. I wish more RL had the balls to do it though.
