Freehold is one of the funnest dungeons in the whole game. Who doesn’t like pirates? I agree that people didn’t really like underrot back in BfA that much and it’s not popular this season. My guild won’t even run Underrot on Tyrannical weeks unless we have main healers available and even then they’ll run everything else first if they can.

M+ is a relatively new feature. It was added to the menu when nothing like it existed previously.

In a game that’s 19 years old. The taco bell menu thing is silly. Stuff gets added all the time. End game is a whole different animal than it was at other points in the game’s history.

Has endgame not always been raid PvP or dungeons, hell even dungeons used to fall off after a few months because they didn’t have any difficulty scaling and weren’t updated as patches went on.
As for the op they have, from what I can gather, almost zero mythic+ experience at least on that character and want to skip ahead to higher keys. That’s not how it works, you need to gather experience running them at lower levels to show you’re capable of them then you’ll get a lot more invites.

I do keys on my main but this time I stopped after doing most dungeons at around +6 because i didn’t wnat to deal with the privilaged brats who are hardcore key runners this time around
Same with Torghast, we can do those flawless 16s pretty easily as well if anyone missed those achieves.
There was also always world content to do and professions. The quality of everything just increased over the years.
In BC most of my end game was trying to get reps for mounts, they expanded world content with Quel’danas. I was a raider until BFA and I always had stuff to do with end game that wasn’t in an instance.
But they expanded on nearly everything over the years. Tried new things like the scenarios and challenge modes in MoP, as well as the farm and the timeless isle, the Garrison in WoD was added and they tried to recreate the timeless isle, etc… The menu is always changing.
Let’s be real… w/ out M+ the game would be how it used to be. You’d raid log each week because world quests and other stuff would be boring. OR, maybe you’d go around world pvping, but modern wow’s world pvp is trash so ill pass.
Well, it’s still going very strong and pvp/raids have been a thing since vanilla.
To me, the raid is just a big dungeon, I like it. But it would be sweet if there was not the archaic weekly lockout system.
And there still is, the OP is specifically talking about progression avenues. World gets you to 424 which is honestly pretty solid and enough to make your character feel strong and branch out into other things if you want. It’s arguably better than it ever has been with crest overlaps on ilvl and tier set from catalyst.
But in the past if you wanted ilvl progression you’ve always only really had those 3 options once you hit the barrier of world content.
Not sure how exactly that would work in a mythic setting though.
I see the edit now. I assumed the OP was asking for feelings of progression outside of M+ or raid for PVE, and they don’t really exist yet, but they may in the future. My reply was to the person who used the “taco bell menu” canned response to downplay anyone who wants more out of the game than it currently offers.

once u get past 10-18 its awful
once u get into +18-22 its sorta OK u get some nice ppl every once in awhile, like 1 out of 3 grps is kewl potatoes
once u get into the +23-+26 bracket ppl just ghost u because they are bad and are just fishing for easy carries thru high keys by meta builds
I gave up on M+ after SL KSM.
I do not find high level gameplay that fun either. I would rather M0 be like a M+20 fortified and tyrannical no affixes and no timer and just make friends willing to do those once a week. even if the gear reward was subpar to max ilvl gear u would get from a normal +20
