Are Demon Hunters really OP?

I doubt this thread will accomplish anything. This has been hashed out a lot already. Either you think they are broken and OP, or you don’t.

Ok now do it on classes that don’t have nearly as much built in self healing cleave.

That’s not unreasonable. However, I doubt that’ll sate the mob.

HOLD UP!
WE CAN USE THE MONK MOGS FROM MOP!?

OMG IM GETTING IT

Your original argument: Only DH can do X
Me: Other classes can aswell including A, B. C.
You: Do it on other classes without T

That is a goal post shift.
Oh, and yes, I can.
Would you like to assist me in raising a Shaman?
I can do it on my mage as well.

Sigh every damn time. Other dhs just cannot stay away from my mog!

Its a nice mog.
I just want the hat TBH

They’re not top1 at anything, but they are very good at everything without downsides, that’s why some people feel they’re op

This right here.
The only thing is people are unhappy about them being the best at something with a downside.

it literally just being unhappy someone else is good at everything instead of excellent at one thing and sucking somewhere else.

People are unironically mad that the class doesn’t take 30 buttons to play.

What they don’t realize is that having a complex rotation only makes losing your virginity more complex as well.

DH is fine where it is.

One word Utility, or two words if you want a more specific reason, Passive Utility. We have way too much passive utility. We have leech that heals us in demo form meaning that our defenses are doing even more damage. Then we have blur which is only about a 1 min CD which is really low. Then we have darkness, then we have a build in dodge through Blade dance again by just doing damage. That is what I think most people have a problem with. Of course there are also those people that complain that the class is easy even though literally almost every class has a 4 button rotation.

I have that same hat/helmet. I got it a long time ago and it definitely is cool looking. Reminds me of the kung fu movies.

They are not the best raid dps melee nor are they the best M+ dps melee.

The issue people have with them is they have no discernible weakness while having many clear strengths. for example the DK actually has better self healing and far better CC immunity. but everybody knows the weakness of a DK that you need to exploit. Mages have some of the best dmg if not the best right now and top tier CC right beside rogues but again everyone knows they are the epitome of the Glass Cannon. Same with Warrior, BM Hunter, Shaman, Warlock etc etc you can quickly point out what those classes/specs are extremely bad at dealing with and exploit it through PvP or Raid Mechanics.

This however is not the case with the Demon Hunter (and Rogue as well really). The agility Classes were supposed to be extremely mobile (which they all are) however somewhere down the line Blizz also decided lets give them immunity, self heals, and low CD defensives as well creating creating this all pros and no cons DH/Rogue.

The funny thing is when I first did the mog but with the red monk shoulders that go with it (didn’t have xavius shoulders till later in Legion), back in Legion, and others saw it in the Class Hall, the next couple days clones started appearing, down to the same axes and everything. Seems to have died off though since.

In PvP wouldn’t their weakness be how susceptible they are to CC? If you can lock them down and focus fire on them they die pretty quickly.

I’m MONK and DEMON HUNTER 24/7 (sure i made other characters, but do not like,I like it up front and personal) . Another game I played there’s a character called A Dahn,I played mine for a few years before I started looking at any other games. The same debate over this character was the same as DH on here. When it comes down to it learn you’re character some might say. I don’t know. But you have to enjoy what ever you play,is a must first of all. :speak_no_evil:

this applies to every class and spec save for DKs

yea they are meta.

They really shine in all content. Every raid wants at least one dh for the 5% magic damage alone. They have really short and strong cds so their m+ damage is top tier. They have all the important defensive utility through built in self heals, built in damage reduction, 1 minute defensive, 100% dodge on a base ability(i’ve seen this used to negate tank mechanics), and a unique raid cd in the form of darkness. On top of that they compete for most mobile class in the game. Simply put they just bring so much more to the table compared to other classes, and many of the things they bring aren’t item replaceable like hero and mage/warrior/priest buffs.
