It may have been going on for a while, but in the grand scheme of things it’s also a VERY minor bug. There are other flights points nearby and with Skyriding, it’s often quicker to use one of them than reconnect at the broken point.
While I’m not a dev and have no idea what they have done in regards to this, it’s likely they’ve looked into fixing it a time or two and discovered it wasn’t as easy to fix as they thought. It’s not a game breaking bug so it’s likely just perpetually on the back burner.
