I feel ya, man. I left Arcane well before the new raid due to the pruning to simplicity.
As for Fire and stats, I was going to run fire but with my current gear I sim better with Frost (which is fine for me cause I honestly would rather play Frost than Fire). Think it’s Crit=Mastery>Haste>Vers for single target but don’t quote me.
I see Arcane Mages in pugs and I sigh longing for a time when that was my spec and my mage’s identity.
Other than galvanizing spark, Arcane has abysmal traits. The ones that affect missiles still don’t make missiles any more impacting. Gods I miss old missiles. The AOE BiS trait is more RNG crap. Equipose seemed promising until it was realized that the mana savings didn’t stack. Useless trait, that.
Arcane suffers from a mindless non-interactive rotation, boring passive talents, and the nerf of Arcane Power to 10 sec AND putting it on the GCD was more than I could handle.
