I honestly don’t know why it took me so long to piece this together, but, in my defense, I haven’t truly seen this topic discussed in the forums heretofore, so, here goes!
It occurred to me today that we are actually questing through Hogwarts. The Arbiter served the role of the Sorting Hat, and they gave us the four houses.
I don’t think I’ll be able to see the storyline the same way again!
Maybe it was transferring to Revendreth and feeling the similarity of name to “Ravenclaw.” I don’t know. Though, come to that, it also occurred to me what an amazing similarity Revendreth has to Ravenloft from the D&D universe. They actually did a really nice job (imho) of bringing the old “Realm of Dread” to life.
Maybe the similarities will fade as I go further. I just did the few opening quests this morning.
Please don’t take this as criticism, just as observation. I actually have a high level of respect for D&D, Harry Potter, Hogwarts, and everything mentioned in this thread. I am also enjoying Shadowlands thoroughly, for what it’s worth.
