He wanted to follow in Turalyon’s footsteps, we’ve known that since he first showed up in BC.
This all feels weird. I can see the narrative logic of it, and it actually does make some sense, but only if this information had always been part of him. Arator getting some mentoring by one of his mother’s Farstrider friends in addition to Turalyon’s paladin pals makes sense. Liadrin as a priest being interested in his wellbeing and looking out for a fellow adoptee makes sense. Him not growing up being around Vereesa’s twins all the time makes sense with the timeline considering how much older he is than them. It’s just really strange to get these retcons now, rather than in BC or Legion. Legion would have been a fine time to have him being friends with Liadrin at least, since they’re both in the order hall together.

the funny part is, Arator is like 40 he doesn’t need to be raised in quel’thelas, he doesn’t need to be another anduin with 5 father figures and mother figures, he could easily have spent adult years in quel’thalas, but golden can only write stories about teens, so they all act like teens.

It’s particularly strange considering how young some of the previous generation of characters were at their most active. Varian wasn’t even 40 yet when he died in Legion, and Jaina was younger than him. Anduin actually was still a teenager when he took the throne, so it made sense for him to act like one.

Arator isn’t/shouldn’t be that much older than the twins though. Arator was born between the years 6 and 7 (since Alleria and Turalyon went through the Dark Portal at year 8) and Day of the Dragon happened around year 10. Rhonin and Vereesa were also an established couple at the end of it so assuming that Knaack’s self-insert and his copycat Sylvanas/Alleria wife had the twins within a 5 year time span after DotD, then Arator should only be a few years older than the twins at max. If within Midnight (year 43?) Arator is 36 years old than the twins would be in the mid-late 20s/early 30s.
Edit: Womp womp, nvm. Apparently the twins were born 15 years after DotD took place. Not sure what Rhonin and Vereesa were doing for those 15 years, but apparently it wasn’t sleeping with one another
don’t forget the 5 year timeskip between shadowlands and dragonflight
That was taken into account with the numbers and ages I was attempting to piece together, but I didn’t realize that we had an exact year that the twins were born in. For some reason I thought the twins would’ve been born way, way sooner than they actually were. Hence my above edit.

Sylvanas and Nathanos didn’t have any children either. It could just be that the odds weren’t in their favor, or they weren’t trying for children.

I don’t think it was ever established that they were in a physical relationship though. There were emotions and feelings present, but I don’t think the physicality was ever present. Let’s also not forget that Nathanos got high-jacked by a writer in order to insert himself as Sylvanas’s husbando fairly late in WoW’s lifespan so the sudden romance, that just so happened to be there the whole time, between Nathanos and Sylvanas was essentially extremely late in being introduced.
No they did have a sexual relationship, its in the sylvanas novel. fun fact about it, sylvanas’s dad had no problems with his daughters sleeping with men, Her mom however likened it to beastiality. Also he isn’t danuser’s self insert that’s just fanwank

Hmm, so this is what some of my Alliance fans friends were ranting about…
I kinda see what they are worrying about, the Horde slowly being built up with Alliance Coded characters to take the center stage in the story or future scenes, but I still don’t see why they worry so much on Alliance Hero NPC rooster getting villain batted or turn to loot Piñatas for the next future expansion, we only got Void Alleria but that’s been hinted at since BfA…
Hmmm I will believe it it when I play it like I always say… I’ll will wait and read for more developments before I start teasing them like they tease me with the Horde for years! lol 
That’s their takaway? “That the Horde is slowly being built up with Alliance Coded characters to take Center Stage in the story”. A story taking place in Quel’thalas, and within Amani lands? Where you’d think the Horde would have a bit more organic involvement finally, but the main story is overwhelmingly built from a “Neutral” Alliance roster.
If Blizz genuinely intended to let the Horde actually have some narrative focus, they could just do that by actually developing some of the Horde’s gutted, dilapidated representative list. Instead, they appear to be pulling another Calia. They’re building up an historically staunchly Alliance-Coded Character in an effort to pretend to be include the entire other player faction in their deeply Alliance-Coded and Themed Comfort Zone stories. Sure, the quality of those stories may be poor much of the time, but that doesn’t change what “neutral” means with Blizz.

He was raised in Dalaran and Quel’thelas? He was a baby just a few months on year 8 during the Second War. Raised in Quel’thelas while Silvermoon rebuilt post orc invasion and burning the forests. As Alleria went through the Dark Portal and was thought lost or dead. Sylvanas at the time was ranger general and could not be active in help raising her nephew. Lor’themar and Liadrin were there at least with Lor’themar who was the 2nd in command helped in training him in the Farstrider ways. Then Vereesa must of moved permanently to Dalaran to be with Rhonin. Cause later he was there help raise his cousins as a older brother figure over there. This must be post Warcraft 3 and the Scourging of Silvermoon. He also went through the Dark Portal when it opened in BC. Returned after then he must of trained under the Silver Hand because later he’s in the order hall in Legion.
That makes a lot of sense and also would give context on the life of Sylvanas and Vereesa as well as Lor’themar and Liadrin all being prominent figures within Silvermoon up until the Scourge came. He would of been a kid when it happened or just coming of age. Lor’themar took over when Kael’thas went to Outland and officially exiled the High Elves who refused to take the fel and use mana tap taught by Rommath. I think this book will help fill the gaps between the Second War through the Third and to Vanilla WoW.
I find it funny that they go out of their way to say that Sylvanas wasn’t around for much of his childhood because she was “too busy” being Ranger-General, and dump him on Lor’themar instead.

I mean it just after the Orc invasion and Southern Quel’thelas was burnt and Amani rampaging across their forests. Not to mention that Vereesa went with Rhonin Year 10 to save the world in Day of the Dragon. So Lor’themar stepped up as 2nd in command cause Nathanos and Sylvanas were busy in the forest… She had no time for games.
A few years later the Scourge came. Silvermoon fell. The survivors were divided and Vereesa must of returned and refused to take the fel along with a portion of Silvermoon and those elves were exiled for it. She had already established a life with Rhonin and must of helped rebuild Dalaran as a portion of these elves she led must of gone with her there. Arator helped raise his cousins as an older brother figure. Then BC happens. He quickly runs off to Outland. Returns to Dalaran and then he must of finished his training in the Silver Hand because we later see him in Legion as a prominent figure in their order hall at Light’s Hope.
Because the thought of creating a new Horde character, or developing an existing one, fills them with such incandescent rage that they start foaming at the mouth and screaming in latin.

I agree with you, but some of my full Alliance friend are very blue lens when it comes to the story… and have been ranting in our chats ever since that was posted…
I just came to check in the forums what the fuss was about and get a better look by reading others who care about story, opinions on the matter.
I sometimes wonder if they will crash out or have a real meltdown if Horde ever gets what they think as center stage in the WoW main story.

Its not like they took the Goblin patch and pulled an Alliance Goblin out of obscurity to wrap the plot around…
I remember when I agree that making the patch more accessible to Alliance players was a good thing (though making the zone neutral was bridge too far). Of course I also mentioned that it would be nice if they ever felt it was worth doing that for Horde players. Well, it is still something that Horde players deserve just as much as Alliance players.

I’ve alwyas thought that Arator living in Silvermoon and, as he comes of age, deciding that maybe his mother isn’t right, and that what his aunt Vereesa did was absolutely wrong, make sense. I would also be far more interesting than him being yet another vanilla Alliance character.
I certainly don’t expect Blizzard to got that far (righteous hatred is only allow for the Alliance). But maybe they are avoid the most boring path. We will have to see. I won’t really believe it until I see it.
