Rogues are actually in very high demand. Slice & Dice with a Windfury totem & Sword Spec is absolute bonkers (assuming you remembered to not apply poison to your mainhand).
It’s also very helpful to have a single rogue in your warrior cleave team to lock down that single caster or healer in the back.
Only 2 classes can run the aoe strategy
It is either triple mage or double mage warlock. it requires everyone in the group to know the route and the strategy for pulls. It isn’t some mindless grind, it is a coordinated effort that reaps a better reward than a normal braindead dungeon run
There are plenty of groups who are doing it normally. Stop being mad at people who level faster than you.
AoE is in high demand because of people wanting to level quickly. End game content there will be a need for a more diverse group. Is it annoying? sure. But leveling is only part of the journey
No troubles here looking for groups? BF is beastly but on 2 min CD. Rogues end game always have a spot. Absurd single target DPS for boss fights, great tool kit, S tier PvP class, and lock picking!
Why exactly would it die out when it’s better than any other way of doing dungeons? not a single person wants to sit in a dungeon any longer than they have to and this AOE meta prevents that.
Well that’s fine… however, most of these Mages just want the quickest leveling route which is very reminiscent of BFA. Most of the mages i’ve come across are terrible at doing anything other than AoE’ing
I’m sure that has nothing to do with the fact that “50% of your server will be composed of rogues who rolled there class to be cheap… You should not worry because you can one shot someone without any kind of skill!”
My initial reaction was something like “Don’t have a taunt? No healz? Nobody wants you. Period.”
But then I realized it’s just another troll and I got disapointed
No doubt there might be some groups running AOE comps for fast XP, there are still plenty of other groups running dungeons normally, stop worrying about what other players do or how they play the game and just join a regular group and enjoy.
No, the problem is that Rain of Fire is so-so channeled AOE damage and isn’t instant cast like Arcane Explosion or doesn’t slow like Blizzard. So it often ends early and is a waste of mana. Hellfire has similar problems with higher damage and it actively hurts the warlock.
Yes, you should still AOE in some circumstances - especially if there are several others doing it too. And especially if there’s a mage using Blizzard. However, many times when there are a few mobs you’re better off dotting everything up and maintaining the dots.
