The fact it will take a full 6 weeks to raise the ring to its maximum power, only to use it for a couple of weeks before it’s obsoleted by rings in 11.1 is sadge.
I guess it gives people something to do and a reason to log on to do the Siren Isle weekly. Most peeps seem to be done with raiding and M+ so maybe it gets a few more players to log.

They also buffed all the crest drops from M+ and reduced the penalty for failing, reduced the crest cost for crafted gear, made the Gilded crest discount accessible with crafted gear, reduced the cost to upgrade crests and have removed the crest caps.
Everything is in line to speed up gearing alt characters several times over.
I LIKE HOW YOU COMPLETELY IGNORED EVERY POINT I MADE ABOUT HOW THIS IS MUCH WORSE “CATCH UP GEAR” THAN WE’VE GOTTEN PREVIOUSLY.
THE ALT THAT GETS THIS GEAR WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET INTO M+ WITH THEIR ILVL 584 GEAR. SO THESE “IMPROVEMENTS” DON’T MATTER TO A FRESH 80. THEY’LL STILL HAVE TO GET CARRIED(NOT ACTUALLY PLAY AND EARN IT THEMSELVES) FOR WEEKS TO “CATCH UP” TO WHERE THE GEAR IN DF WOULD HAVE PUT THEM.
IT’S AS IF YOU AND OTHERS ARE SO USED TO BUYING CARRIES OR HAVING FRIENDS CARRY YOUR ALTS YOU FORGET THAT MOST PLAYERS HAVE TO ACTUALLY COMPLETE THE CONTENT THEMSELVES TO GEAR UP.
