Yeah, I have no clue, I stopped really watching videos and reading things about this sort of stuff. I just got kind of tired of it.
I wasn’t sure if this was the issue, for some people who have a problem with the cinematic.
All I do care about is if the video game I am paying for is a good product and I enjoy myself. I don’t care about gender, looks, appearances, scars, who is or isn’t gay or what you identify as.

every nerd male and female. her face was to human or rather to altmer from the elder scrolls online a completely separate franchise and race of elves. she didnt have a Sin’dorei/quel’forei face it was offputting .
Do you know how many blood elf female characters I have as a male? Exactly zero.
Do you know how many blood elf and void elf females my wife has? You don’t want to. It’s a lot.
Women also like hot women and men in their media. Those that aren’t threatened by attractiveness that is.
She will only play Darkspear women (insists on the one cute face they have) and BE/VE women. Because the rest are ugly and she doesn’t want to play an ugly character.
I mean the history of them being battle-hardened elves that have fought countless wars and struggled against their addictions and survived a near genocide at the hands of the scourge. I imagine there’s many battle-hardened female elves that do not look like barbies.
Armor on males in wow doesn’t fit very well on most races tbf
You have to really ask who all these changes are for.
It cannot be for women because women like playing pretty women. Don’t have to be sexy, just pretty. All the history of WoW has proved this, even from female gamers themselves.
It cannot be for men cause they like more functional aspects. And a lot of men enjoy monster races, like Orcs, or rough races like Dwarves. They don’t care much for beauty. There’s men who do like beauty, so they’ll opt for the more pleasant looking races. And the blood elves also gave some men who did not like monster races something more pretty to play on the Horde side.
So who exactly is male-looking Liandrin for?
Except there is not a single blood elf like that in the game, save for the fel corrupted ones in Outland, and the zombiefied ones. All of these are rare exceptions. Blood elves were literally created to be the beautiful race.
That’s like saying I’m playing an Orc cause I can assume there is one Orc out there that is as beautiful as a blood elf, despite their features being very strong in orc traits. Not even Thrall, despite being called a handsome orc for orc standards back in his younger days, could match someone like Arathas’s beauty.
Definitely a solid fact in my observation. She loves her gorgeous gals and as a side benefit gives me eye candy while we play. It’s a symbiotic relationship. 
Unlike the OP’s assertion, this isn’t a situation where we are demanding that everyone be hot, we are just hoping not everyone will be ugly.

News flash, all the older characters use the base model of their race until they get updated, you really shouldn’t be taking their in-game model as a realistic reflection of how they look. Even Lor’themar used a base Blood elf model and hairstyle, hell his eyepatch was even on the wrong eye in some depictions.
No one said they’re as “butch” or “ugly” as an orc, they’re just not a complete barbie. How is this hard to grasp.
My transmog on a forum alt that I never play and is intended to troll you has no bearing on the subject.
It seems to be working for its intention however.
So knowing there’s little updates and depictions, and knowing the lore where ugly blood elves literally do not exist, you chose to use a blood elf for your character cause you assume there is at least one that is battle hardened and tough like you imagine…despite there being several other races that depict that look both in game and in lore a lot better than the literal race made to be a perfect beauty machine.

As long as you “imagine” the jawline, it works!
i hate the whole thing where a woman has to be ugly to be strong and tough. legit supper commonly pushed and its stupid and does not have to be a thing in games and movies.
yeah the jawline they made for Lady Liadrin is not an elven jaw its a human one it doesnt fit wows elves.
