@Anyone that says Sharding is not noticeable

You love to assume things and resort to ad’Homs. That way you don’t have to have a reasonable conversation or accept the viewpoint of someone who disagrees ever so slightly with you.

Says who? That’s not at all what the devs said at Blizzcon.
They said they will have 4 phases… not 4 content patches.

Everyone assumes its 4 content patches. I hope it wont be. It will literally be phases. Phase 1 we are working on this this and this. Phase 2 that that and that…

considering you’re literally all for them sharding the crap out of classic, yeah you definitely come across like someone concerned about competition.

based on the way blizzard talked about it at blizzcon.

You two assume that I want sharding “the crap” out of classic. I have clearly stated that is not what I want. I want people and community, but not at the expense of waiting around 3 hours to do one quest due to overpopulated zones and no dynamic mob spawnings…

and yet you’re all for sharding the entire map. which is the problem.

you’re going to screw the eco.

I am all for sharding for a few days or weeks… one month tops…

But yes lets ignore the fact that I have stated that numerous times…

and that’s the problem. we could abuse the hell out of sharding and screw up the server economy.

Gotcha, now think about more.

With sharding, could Blizzard set the caps to 20k? Probably. So are we to assume they don’t have a solution for resources too?

and now you’re far outside of the realm of vanilla. which is exactly what people don’t want.

because you used sharding and ended up with more people then you expected, now we have to resort to having higher spawn rates of herbs. and possibly having to leave sharding in the game.

no thanks.

Oh hey players abuse the economy with a mafia that prevents anyone from killing anything unless they are in the mafia so that it can control the economy… and charge whatever they want for whatever it is they control…

See I can do it too…

Perhaps enough people wouldn’t play at first for fear of crowded zones without sharding… that there wont be a need for sharding

My comment was sarcastic.

but that’s not exactly what i was referring too.

let me flood high level zones with bodies and force 5-10 shards of each. those previously rare herbs? not so rare anymore.

No, it’s not ok.

So now we are to imagine that westfall is a starting zone as well?

he actually wants to shard all of classic for the first month.

ALL of classic.

Ok, sure but that’s the direction Blizzard has shown.

Why would they choose that? The alternative is less desirable maybe? How about an example.

5 million playets at launch using 3k server caps is how many servers? 6 month’s after launch the populations plummet to 500k.

Now what does Blizzard do?

Blizzard might be heading that scenario off by using a sharding solution.

PS you seem to think I am supporting someone. As if I am the one with the ideas. This is a practice in discussion of cause. Point your accusation to Blizzard, not me.

actually blizzard hasn’t chosen a direction. the last thing they said was they understood our dislike of sharding and were considering options.

I said I would be ok with it

IF it were necessary… not just because… I have stated multiple times if the rush to 60 zerg maintains a size that impacts game play in every zone it gets to then yes. shard it.

That being said I don’t expect that to be realistic. Because the guys who think they are going to roll a warrior to OMGTOPDPS meters might not make it to 40 let alone 60.

But yes only focus on a narrow aspect of my point because you don’t like it so you can ignore everything else that makes my whole point reasonable.
