As much work as I have put into my main, I’m ready for Blizzard to remove the corruptions. I don’t mind working for gear, but all the rest gotta go. Or is this just me?
Yep, i see that I have to grind out the currency to get rank 3’s then get cloak (they honestly should just let you skip the whole thing if you got it once)
Then level up said cloak
Then grind currency to get corruption

I mainly hate corruptions, I hate the system completely.
Essences in my opinion is okay but god, farming the cape and corruptions just sucks the joy out of playing anything even my main…
I got my Cape to rank 8 and called it a day.
There is no fun to be had in 8.3
Unsubbed for a bit and am now playing old content.
Neck is fine because you level it by doing whatever you want to do.
Cloak is annoying because you have to farm specifically for it.
Essences are also fine if not mildly annoying due to being able to purchase them once you already have one on a character.
Corruption you randomly get from doing content you want as well, the rng is slightly awkward but similar to gear in that regard.
All of that minus the cloak would be fine for me as I love building characters up… it’s not even the visions tbh, it’s the currency from weekly event zones I don’t want to do anymore.

I’ve done the cloak on 6 characters now. It’s bad, but it really isn’t the end of the world if you are only doing it on 1 or 2 characters. Especially with all the catch up mechanics.
nah, dude. I’ve only done it like three times. It’s not like I have 7 other alts on the back burner or anything that I’d really like to gear and screw around with.

Leveling, no issue. Neck, no issue. Cloak quest line is too long, should really have a skip mechanic IMO, either to getting it or to Rank 15. Grinding essences/gear is less punishing, corruptions aren’t going away soon enough.
Well, it’s not “just the neck” or “just the cloak”, it’s all of it. Having 50 120s, I can assure you I have patience and do the grind. My main’s neck is almost 98… 5 alts arounds 80s, 470 geared.
I’m sitting around bored and rather scroll through memes on FB then to do it “just one more time”. I would like to go tank or heal something, but I don’t even want to try to worry about optimizing the gear with corruptions or deal with the lack of performance. I hate that they hid player power behind these systems.
I play alts all the time. Just get them to Max, gear them a tiny bit and just go run old raids.
I don’t worry about the cloak or essences on any of them unless I plan on playing them for more than just old content.
Because man that cloak quest is a killer after the fifth time, no thanks.
I got plenty of alts. Cloak and resist upgrade is tedious. I’ll take MoP cloak rules over BFA any day. You just buy it from vendor on alts if you completed the cloak quest once on main.
That would be more BFA, i’m tired of BFA so nah.
I’ll log on my alt, start searching for m+ to gear him up then remember that I need to do cloak, neck, essences, and corruptions. After remembering this I log off and go back to my one character that has gear.
The grind is intended to make you sink more hours into the game. The irony is that people play less because they’d rather stick a rusty knife in their eye than grind the cloak and echoes on more than one character.

NO desire to cloak her unless really needed. LIke gun to my head needed lol.
So far she picked up 1 corrupted piece that got swapped out soon enough.
She just needs to be 400 to 420 range and not be cloak uber. Had her do black rock raid at mythic solo in wod at 370. Doable but slow and grindy.
400-420 would get her in the sweet spot of run this faster. She’d be the plate mog farmer number 2. VE DK would be the first one. All she needs to do besides smash bfa wq’s. So far today the wq pass has been kind to me to creep to 400.
You make it a bigger deal than it actually is. You can skip the first Scenario by talking to Magni before entering the Halls of Origination and play with the cat people. You can skip the Vale assault entirely and go for the end boss kill to collect the quest item, come back later when you have the cloak. Of course you can skip the Panda dungeon too.
If you just want Echoes, you only need to do up to Blackwing Descent portion of it. If you want Corrupted Mementos, you only need to do up to Entering Madness with the mini-area and turn that in. After that, you don’t have to complete any further unless you want to upgrade the cloak.

In the past I used to love picking up an alt and gearing it up, learning how to play it well, and optimizing it. Right now though with all the grinds required for the cloak, essences, and corruption it’s just miserable. I’ve given up on alts and when my main is finished up with his plans, WoW is getting parked until I decide on whether I’m going to play SL or not.
