honestly, i think they just need to tone down both us and lore characters. i really think blizzard tries to have their cake and eat it too by inflating the importance of lore characters while necessarily relegating them to a backseat role in every major fight for the players’ sake. i think there’s a middleground between being the supreme special chosen hero without whom Azeroth would crumble into a pile of dust, and essentially making us into tagalongs to the avengers who are simultaneously infinitely stronger than us (sometimes!) but who also tell us that we’re Azeroth’s champions
