Players accept garbage so they only get garbage. That’s the reality, these people will get hyped over a few skin colors and hair colors. Dev team definitely realizes they can just cut on any real work when it comes to races because most this playerbase plays a boring elf.
How about a race that is just a skeleton?
If they made a whole expansion where the only thing they added was a mustache WITHOUT chin hair for Blood Elves, it would be the best expac since Legion.
Void Elves and Male Dracthyr can have a mustache without chin hair, and they are based off Blood Elves, dang it.
I think this one probably is too lol.
Both factions just got Dracthyr. While it’s not a unique race for both sides, both sides still got a race. Dracthyr also have a starting zone.
Define a “unique” skeleton
Wdym by “based on”? Are you trying to say they share a skeleton? Or just that they have a few similar looking animations?
Dracthyr have their own skeleton as far as I know, but I guess it could be possible it has a few animations from worgen, as I don’t play them much.
Ztroll is not a Nelf skeleton. It’s not unique tho either. I’m pretty sure It’s the same one for those humanoid plant mobs from WoD. You can find a few in Everbloom as trash mobs, and the healer for the second boss. They use the same casting, running, and death animations, nvm i’m stupid it’s the skeleton for zandalari from MoP lol. Zandalari don’t even have their own “death skeleton”, it leaves behind the one from the og Darkspear Trolls whenever you die lol
Kul Tiran, as far as I’m aware is a completely new, and unique skeleton. I don’t remember seeing their animations anywhere else except the death animation (and in the slimes in Maldraxxus, but those came after KT). (Old) Moonkin used ogre animations, but KT’s is mostly unique. the Male Kul Tiran death animation looks similar to the male Pandaren one tho.
Probably not even taller lol. If I had to guess, I’d say they’ll probably be an exact copy paste of dwarves, like with the Dark Iron, but now they just look like stone…with Christmas lights.
Even if a few races do overlap, does it really matter? I don’t think races sharing some animations really makes that much of a difference.
Vulpera’s skeleton is kinda weird, in that they have a mix of both male and female goblin animations, with a handful of new ones thrown in. They are also the only race (to my knowledge) to use the same skeleton for both body types, except the dance.
Not disagreeing with you or anything, just something I noticed and thought was a little interesting
Incorrect. The Kul Tiran rig is new and so is the rig for the Incubus/Dracthyr.
Mostly we have humanoids models frames which they pretty much have the program to automate . To do another would require a new frame and animation to play even if they do have these races in game already it would be a complex other than playing humanoids ,not say it isn’t possible .Maybe at sometime they would.
The kul tiran got their own starting zone?
No Allied Race has a starting zone. As per your title and point 2, they absolutely are a new rig.
New race, rig and starting zone is Dracthyr. They are not an Allied Race.
More coffee I guess someone never seen an allied race starting zone
There is no such thing. Allied Races begin at level 10, which is where starting zones end. They’re immediately let out into the world to do dungeon and Chromie Time or BfA content.
And you are? on alliance as a allied race and had your own starting zone,ok ,so did all the allied races made in wow.
Starting zones are where you level from 1-10. Hero classes have their own starting zones for their level range.
Allied races do not have starting zones. They did not level from 1-10, nor do they have a Hero Class starting zone.
I think it will be the one race for all model going forward. 1/2 the development time.
I’m not saying they cant afford it… but they probably dont want to.
I have no basis for this, just a hunch. I dont play the GD game of pretending I actually KNOW what I’m talking about.
They just did the new race/new starter zone/new hero class, so it’ll definitely be a while before we see another one of those again.
You’re right in that Allied Races are easier, because 99% are reskins that don’t need whole new starter zones.
Kul’Tiran and Dracthyr have their own models. They are not reskinned models from other races as you’re saying.
It’s not that they can’t, it’s just more expensive to do so in this day and age, especially if we want quality.
They’re gonna take the cheap path, especially because WoW players will, again and again, ‘just buy it anyways’.
Look at all the movies and scripts writted by AI lately instead of hiring quality writers instead, because of that writer’s strike, etc., yet still sell.
Star Wars is an example, Pokemon is another.
Everything’s crap lately lol, even gaming.
Creativity across all mediums is just kinda collapsing on itself.
It’s just okay. I haven’t bought it. Yet. Dunno if I will.
That is classic ,I don’t think we were talking about the past as a model.
They literally just gave us a new race to play in DF…so no.
Your conditions on how they give us the new race is rather arbitrary and subjective. They’ve obviously focused more on customization via allied races, but I’m sure we will continue to see new races over time and how they do that is not concerning.
I don’t understand what you’re talking about. No one is talking about Classic WoW. We’re talking about Retail WoW. Allied Races don’t even exist in Classic.
No Allied Race has their own starting zone. They start at level 10, which is past starting zone level.
I don’t know how many more times that can be said.
