Nope, not tired of that at all.
My character’s been present for Illidan’s fall in Outland, Arthas’ defeat, slaying Deathwing with Thrall, putting a stop to the Sha and Garrosh in Pandaria, ending the otherworldly threat in Draenor, defeating Sargeras’ forces on Argus, and now have defeated one of the most manipulative of the old gods, and along that path, other gods, demons, and titans were trampled over in the name of Azeroth.
With all of that and more under the player character’s belt, it would be weird to not acknowledge it, though I think Blizzard’s gotten better at working on making it sound like they’re calling you ‘Champion’ because they have to. Honestly, Dragon Soul is probably the biggest offender of this for me, mostly because it felt like Blizzard knew it was Thrall’s show, but didn’t want to admit to it. Anytime one of the dragons calls me ‘Hero’, it feels a bit half-hearted.
New quest zones like Kul Tiras felt like there was less resting on your accolades and more proving yourself, especially in zones like Drustvar.
Well, if they call me “the gullible” after naming all my cool titles I’d be laughing my butt off.

That is still my favorite title to this day. How do you get it again?
Now that’s going too far.
Everyone keeps expecting me to save the world from the apocalypse every two years.
One of these days i’m just gonna say No, and go watch the world burn from the sunny beach in Tanaris.

Would be interested in hearing alternative generic terms that could be used. What else instead of “Hero” or “Champion”?

How about buddy? I’m not special.
I’d be slightly more okay with these terms if the voicing and dialogue wasn’t so over the top sometimes.
WE OWE EVERYTHING TO YOU CHAAMMPPIIUUUN. THANK YOU FOR SAVING US HERO GOD OF ALL LIFE.
It’s so patronizing it disgusts me.
Sure, I get it, but my vocabulary-fu is weak on coming up with anything else that’s appropriately respectful and gender neutral. It’s kind of a tough problem.
“Adventurer” could work I think.
Even “Soldier” in specific examples with military types of NPCs, maybe.
I dunno. My Roget’s is in a box in the closet.

To be honest, I tend to read the text more than listen to the voiceover. In the text, they almost always use my character’s name. The voiceovers don’t really bother me though.

Just stop worrying about what people call you. At the end of the day, I’m liyo.
When the hell did that happen?
I am. I miss being an adventurer and I get why things changed. I’d like another expansion like Pandaria, where we are strangers in a strange land and no one feels obligated to worship us.
Shadowlands could’ve been it but it isn’t from what I’ve heard.

ANYONE ELSE TIRED OF BEING CALLED, “CHAMPION”
about 90 days after I started playing in Legion.
its one of the more annoying sounds in the game.

Would be nice to have a preference to set it to, but that’s a lot more voice acting than what it’s worth. In SLs we’re shifting from ‘Champion’ to Maw Walker, so not too much better.
