Anyone else think Blizzard has been taking your ideas?

There’s a poster on the Hunter forums who making the claim they came up with many of the ideas that Blizzard now uses:

How many others feel like they not getting the credit they deserve?

If they did take my ideas, I wouldn’t mind it.

I love this game and the work the devs deliver. If they want to take my idea of making Frostfire mages casting fire spells with a blue hue, it’s up for grabs.

Or the idea that Mechagnomes could have differentiated cybernetic limbs.

Maybe even tattoos on my cranium, circuitry-inspired. Give it a cipherpunk feel. Yes, I said cipherpunk. HACKERMANS

There you go, Blizz.

Blizzard named an area of frostfire ridge after me, and then made a quest called Assault on Magnarok. I think that’s enough credit for me.

That’s very sweet and unselfish of you. Just knowing they listened is its own reward.

Ascendance is an insanely boring cooldown, I am not sure I’d be proudly wearing inventing that as a badge of honor.

If that’s the case, Catgirl Trolls from a Tigon curse. :memo::robot:

Let’s hope they take mine: delete LFR.

So, let me get this straight.

You come to the forums and give feedback on how to improve the game, and then you’re mad when they do what you asked?

They aren’t going to put your name in the credits.

Ahh yes the good old I had that idea first syndrome. It takes a special kind of entitlement to think that just because you had an idea no one else can have a similar idea without stealing it from you.

Nah, usually it feels my ideas are low-hanging fruit and it makes sense for Blizzard to go for them.

Less reliance on addons, visiting Ethereal home planet (K’aresh), the missing link between trolls and elves (Harronir), Undermine- these are all ideas or things I’ve been thinking of for several years/expansions at least lol, probably since TBC even.

It’s Blizzard’s game, not ours lol.

Just because you have an idea doesn’t mean they have to credit you for making it.

No, but for a while I did think they were actively doing what I didn’t want, at least with PvP anyway.

I have already said on some social networks and in the forum that I would like Silvermoon to be painted purple by Alleria. This has been years, back when we were recruiting the Void Elves.

Another dream is that the Draenei would have a fleet of ships and that they would connect like the Torment Keep.

Nah.

Well the President of Blizzard did call Tiffany’s alternate personality, who goes by the name Rose, and asked her for a good name for a villain. She said "How about ‘Arthas’ " and they ran with the idea.

Yes, hello? Is this the head of Blizzard? Yes? Good. I has an idea. How about a mount that will dismount everyone else within a radius of 500 yards. But only I get to use it.
:smiling_imp:

Arttimis made a good point:

Just the acknowledgement that one of your ideas was added is a great achievement.

i once was in a deadmines group that was heading to the stone and the rest of the group were talking about a potential game to play while waiting for everyone to be at the stone and they started describing pretty much exactly what hearthstone is today, before hearthstone was a thing. cards, health and damage , cards mashing together and taking away life… pretty much all of it.

coincidence ? probably.

all i know is a group of randos came up with hearthstone before hearthstone was a thing. years before.

*damn maybe i ran a deadmines with benbrode or something. that would be funny lol

Why would I need credit? A bunch of things I’ve asked for have made it into this game. In very specific ways I’ve asked for them. All that means is I’m probably not the only one who asked for them and I’m insanely happy that they exist.

I’m not so egotistical to think it’s all my doing and I’m somehow entitled to something for it.

I told a guildie in BFA that there should totally be an expansion based around Xal’atath. And now they make an expansion based around Xal’atath?

Blizzard needs to send me a royalty check!

I would be concerned for anyone entitled enough to feel they deserve credit for their idea. Cringe.
