Anyone Else Losing Steam on Housing?

Is it a weird battle to pick, considering how many people are out there on the forums complaining about a >5min quest that they dont even need to do anyway, while I haven’t seen anyone complaining about the arcantina weekly that is actually more effort to do (purchase THREE things and USE them).

Way more active haters talking about far less important things than pointing out the bugs and saying that its killing their drive.

I’m not even remotely surprised it’s you posting this.

  1. it doesnt effect all of them. but I understand the frustration for the one color-wall type thats affected. There are ways to deal with it for now.
  2. this isnt happening
  3. lol, this isnt happening. Complaining about a free market gets you absolutely nowhere. Do it yourself if you arent willing to pay other people for it.
  4. You can, you’re just not as creative as you lend yourself to be on the forums. For the things you objectively can’t, you need to learn to be okay with what you have until we get more.
  5. They arent. You can do a lot with 250. For lights, you need to understand how game development works and realize that no matter how many times you complain about it, it’s not helping to make it get fixed any faster.
  6. There’s not a “lack” of items. This is wow. The vast majority of what you listed literally dont exist, or they exist in small quantity. You seem to want to make your house like a real house in reality with normal human things. Either get creative or wait for them to be added. Listing them over and over in a thread doesnt make it happen any sooner.
  7. this isnt happening. its not inconsistent, its not augmented by the item, its augmented by the size.
  8. Forum people, you specifically, don’t get to complain about housing levels. You got your full room and placement budget. Level 9. But because you whined on the forums for a month about endeavor XP even when everyone told you that the decor coming in midnight would be more than enough even with the old endeavor XP, they overnerfed endeavor task bar completions and overbuffed the xp gained from it.

As a result, you will never have any sense of progression again and will nearly instantly be at the max the minute the servers go live. You asked for this. You got it. Now deal with knowing you now have nothing to work towards for the next patch cycle and are now going to change all your posts from “It’s too hard to do :(” to “There’s nothing to do bad game” like you’re already doing.

This is literally your fault. You can do both of what you need. You just either don’t have the creativity to do it, or you don’t have the drive to do it. Both are on you.

Both are doable.

This isn’t remotely true. They explicitly said house levels will go up every patch. What is happening now is literally the result of them listening to people when they say “if we want to go all out let us”

Well they did after months of yall complaining. Now you get to deal with being at a cap that was supposed to take months that you did in weeks. You get to wait until 12.0.5/7 at the earliest and 12.1 at the latest for more housing levels, and because of how much decor we already were going to get and the overbuffed xp gain from endeavors you will instantly hit the next cap too, and then have nothing to work towards until the next patch.

This will repeat in perpetuity, and it’s what yall wanted.

I mean, yeah it is. Housing isn’t a main pillar of wow the way mythic + and raids are. That is just the fact of.

They do have this

This literally isn’t happening. This is legitimately a case of, "They havent responded when I asked or fixed what I asked when I asked it, bad company bad game  ". Yall need to chill.

We do know. You’re just feigning ignorance, or you’re actually this loudly ignorantly uninformed. Not sure which is worse.

lol. ok.

This is why I’m so glad they are sticking to their guns and releasing budgets when they’re technically ready and not when people on the forums say they should be added.

I’m still enjoying it, but have lost some enthusiasm. Midnight’s release soured me a little on how they’re going to handle faction/racial decor going forward. We kind of knew it would be this way, but the reality of it is hitting me now. Midnight is a blood elf expansion. I expected there to be tons of blood elf decor, and I love most of it. I just didn’t realize how slanted it would be. There’s like 200+ new blood elf items, 50-70 each for void elves, amani, and haranir. And… 0 for any other race. I thought there’d be at least ~20 new items for everyone else upon release, but no. I suppose when everything has to be tied to a quest/achieve/rep/currency, there was no way to include anything else. God forbid they give anything but generic stuff away without tying it to content.

It really drives home that until a race is in the spotlight, they probably won’t get anything major. For some races that could be years. Sure they’ll probably add a trickle of minor items here or there, but not much beyond that. Poor tauren/forsaken. Those two still have half as much as most of the other races. Have to wonder if they’ll have a presence in 12.1/12.2, and maybe there’s more on the way. That’s sort of what they did with void elves; they had little in early access because most of their stuff came in Voidstorm.

If the concern is being able to create new assets for both the open world and housing, why is so much stuff from TWW/DF still missing? Both of those have amazing art and textures, yet much is missing as decor. Even BFA/SL had pretty HQ stuff.

Looks like there is a lot of stuff coming in 12.0.5. Most of it is foliage, which is nice as lots of us have wanted that. But racial furnishings? Not much. There’s some stuff for tauren/earthen/kul’tiran, but it’s extremely basic. Humans have a few things, and again more blood/void elf stuff, plus some new Skyborne elves? On top of that there’s a lot of stuff for a new series called “opulent”, which looks identical to the “elegant” and “elegant elven” series. But again that stuff has always looked more like blood elf style than anything else, just purple, and can be dyed anyways.

It’s especially discouraging for certain categories too, like paintings. They really should’ve had a handful of paintings or artwork for every race upon release. It’s nuts that there’s now more paintings of Eversong Woods than all other paintings combined. IMO they really should’ve used Endeavors to cycle through other races for each faction so everyone was always getting stuff.

And this isn’t a knock on blood elf stuff. Again, it’s their expansion, and I actually do love their stuff. It’s awesome that I already have multiple of some really nice pieces now, like the bookshelf from running Magister’s Terrace dozens of times. But it’s a bit discouraging getting countless cool blood elf stuff, while most other races will probably be stuck with the same early access stuff for a long time. And I know it’s still early to be complaining about lack of choice, but I don’t think this will change any time soon given they’ll likely only ever bring out ample new offerings when tied to a patch. So I’m still having fun playing around with what is available, but also hesitant to fully invest. Perhaps when templates come out I’ll be more likely to try things out knowing I can restore them later.

This is a you problem that you find building a house in a system that 100% consists of just building to be cumbersome. Housing is probably not for you.

You will live without a handful of items you arent trying to get.

They are addressed. The only one that hasnt publicly (provided this isn’t just people not understanding how walls work and lying) is the one wall color. We also don’t even know if they arent working on it, just that an announced fix hasnt happened yet and yall are just assuming its not being addressed and running with it.

It was.

They still have more than the Darkspear Trolls. Tauren and Highmountain have a lot of overlap. Undead have a decent amount of stuff from BFA plus a little from the UC quartermaster. Darkspear have basically nothing that is theirs. The Tauren and Undead also have a lot more than the Vulpera do. I think they have the least unless you separate Gnomes and Mechagnomes as there is almost nothing for vanilla Gnomes with the Gnomergon vibes.

Sure there are some Zandalari Troll things and some Amani Troll things but they are about as close to Darkspear Trolls as Suramar Elves are to Blood Elves. A few items can fit okay but most are just the wrong style.

I will keep hoping they will take the time to add in more old expansion items and give all of the races better representation. Even if they just create new Endeavor events for each race, that would probably help a bit.

No? Those decor are because covenant decor is being added. Specifically kyrian and venthyr.

Probably because it’s lent more towards void elf, since its purple.

Just you knowing the 317 items coming in 12.0.5 proves things are being added faster in the past. They also directly said racial items werent going to come out as slow as heritage armor did.

Personally, I want more loa things. Bwonsamdi. Muelzala. Hireek. Jani, Shirvallah, Bethekk, even Hakkar, Dambala, Quet’lun, Tharon’ja, and Sethraliss/Sseratus.

My music is already almost all troll and haranir music. It needs more troll things.

Considering the darkspear haven’t gotten basically -any- story since vol’jin died in LEGION (and thats -barely- darkspear lore), im not terribly surprised at this. The darkspear have been forgotten in favor of the “cooler” trolls that they wont actually commit to

They’ve said a lot of things before, like adding new customizations. So I’ll believe it when I see it, be pleasantly surprised if so, and admit I was wrong. But for now I’m not getting my hopes up. 12.0.5 adds a lot, but most of it is foliage. Appreciated, yes, but the new racial pieces haven’t convinced me yet that we’ll see significant additions outside of related story content.

I get that. the main ask here is patience, and not reacting like it’s the end of the world month after month.

You aren’t doing that, but some of the more vocal people in this subforum are. Biggest one of which is the one that made this thread.

There are vendors on the terrace above and east of the road north to the Sunwell in Silvermoon, that appear to start selling in 12.0.5… we’ll see what they have, some of it is Void Elf stuff.

I’ll second that. I’d include all the lesser loa they added with the Amani and the loa from the Northrend Trolls as well.

I agree.

And I’m not saying that I don’t like the “cooler” Trolls. I just want to able to make some really Darkpear style rooms and/or exterior.

I would agree. I think housing, like all other content, has its highs and lows, and remembering to take everything in moderation is necessary. Personally, I spend about 3 hours a day on housing just to make adjustments, and such, and then head back out into the open world for other content. Housing is like PvP, after awhile, you just want to do something different.

It would be nice to have some normal void elf stuff. What am I going to do with a barricade? (Shove it into something else to make something that is not a barricade, if anything) its not like theres any danger in the neighborhoods. Like, normal house stuff.

Ive been doing okay recoloring elven furniture, but not all of it will recolor, and its definitely not a perfect system

I feel like every race should’ve at least had a couple things

Come to think of it, I am desperately trying to recall any darkspear -anything- in basically the entire history of this game. Correct me if i am wrong, they got a new starting zone in cata, but thats… kind of about it? I guess you learn a little about the darkspear in passing while in zuldazar, but its definitely not the center of attention. Have they ever been?

To me it’s a long term project I’ll work on over time.

Right now my alliance home has my pandaren night room, draenei/hunter day room, stairwell/library, semi decorated kitchen, a sitting area with what I’m trying to make look like a wall tv, a few bedrooms semi started for alts upstairs and a small downstairs powder room. I’m only on level 7, so I’m really not stressing it. I go back a couple times a week when I acquire a handful of new decor, but even then I’m not buying too much at the moment, saving my currency for mounts first overall.
My horde home is mostly a stairway going straight up front the front door to a living area, and an open stairwell beyond that where I’ll build my own stairs down to the dungeon/lab rooms for alts. I have done nothing else aside from endeavors for it.
No rush to do any of it, it will be around for years and I’m treating it as such.

Admittedly I was going by wowdb, which both separates and also combines subraces into tags. Which sometimes makes sense, but other times not. And you’re right, I didn’t even realize Troll had 101 total, but it’s all Zandalari and Amani (which isn’t even tagged since it’s not playable). Darkspear doesn’t even have a tag. And Vulpera with 2, eek!

Yeah I think that could’ve been interesting. If they made Endeavors for each race, at least the races for each neighborhood’s faction, and rotated through them. It would guarantee a handful of unique pieces, and by the time the same race came back around months later then there’d also be new offerings, plus the originals could still be available somewhere in case you missed them. It would be an easy way to add racial decor without needing to tie it to content or rep.

The Nightborne got lucky in that Housing came out around the time of Lemix, and they got quite a bit into decorations.

Housing is not my primary focus right now. I did work on one room but I kept thinking about all the things on my to-do list while doing it. I really want to level up my professions, another character and reps before I start working on housing. Plus this gives me time to rethink some housing ideas I have.
