One month for the initial new-expansion glow to fade, another month for the ugly problems to rear their heads.
If its just a bad expansion through and through, I wont buy it until a couple months before the post-Shadowlands expansionās prepatch. That way I can play through it and see the story/content without subjecting myself to whatever nonsense the devs have dreamed up.
But hey, maybe itāll be good. Unlikely, but possible.
Nope, I have bought every expansion so far and I have no doubt I would end up buying SL as well. So I may as well pre-order it for the perks, plus I wanted a VE DK.
Why would I hold off? Iād have to purchase it anyway if I wanted to try it out and play. Iām having fun in every single expansion for nearly a decade and a half, why would I stop now just because some random people in the forum whine about every thing?
Itās so laughable you have a level 120 Pandaren Death Knight exclaiming his hatred for Blizzard and World of Warcraft, yet he still logs in and plays WoW EVERY single day. Bunch of hypocrites in here, I never listen to their cries and influence my purchases or in-game decisions.
Pre-ordering is dumb, especially for digital products.
Wait until itās released and watch/read a review, then purchase if it seems to fulfill your expectations.
Pretty sure Iāve never pre-ordered a game before, even when I was fully hyped for Diablo 2. Plus I missed 4 of the expansions for WoW on their release (some for years). So yes.
Honestly, the game is too frustrating for me before flight gets patched in. Some part of my brain is always telling me āYouāll be able to fly and explore faster laterā so I just donāt have a good time til itās put in the game
me. for once i didnāt pre order an expac since i started playing WoW.
idk for me i just got bored of BfA quicker then i expected just wasnāt having fun after tier 1. the perks are kinda meh. i donāt even play DKās, they added a MEH mount along with some MEH xmog. of course itās all just my own opinion others might like it which is fine.
will i end up pre ordering it? more then likely but not anytime soon. i want a release date first. if they string this content drought for a long time im likely to just quit for good. i personally cannot take long content droughts in video games.
The amount of cut content from WoD was enough to really make my stomach actually sick. There was a thread on MMO champ that laid out every detail and additional planned items they cut we didnt even know about till it was all over.
It was deeply saddening that WoD could of out-shined any expac before it had they not enforced this ridiculous initiative of pushing expansions in 2 year gaps. Itās seriously hurting this game.
Iāll eventually order it, but unless they add more pre-order perks, much closer to actual release. Iām excited for the new zones and especially the new character customization options. But āallied race/panda death knightsā? Big whoop. The mount/transmog perks are also a āmehā in my book. So Iāll wait for the expansion to come out before spending the money on it.
I never pre-order, even if itās something Iām looking forward to. Or, if the pre-order has a bonus I want I will late until the last day to pre-order. And Iām sure not making an exception for Shadowlands after BfA.
nope⦠I much prefer to buy the game when itās discounted a year later over the holidays and also not have to deal with all the elitist solo players rushing to be 1st.
Also, the major changes they are doing to the game with SL⦠might finally be that nail in the coffin for meā¦
Iām upset with this business model. Itās like okay wod sucked, they pulled resources from wod so legion was good. Itās okay bfa sucked they pulled resources from bfa so hopefully shadowlands will be good!
It is a triple A gaming company, every expac should be good! Filler expansions shouldnāt exist.
Though this could be right, Iād rather have another Wrath, in terms of game design. Legion was alright, but it was just as bad, because the introduced end game character progressions, that goes away, and doesnāt even exist for new characters. One of the dumbest things theyāve done is design content (and classes) around something they wonāt be able to use after two years as, then remove all of that, and replace it with a watered down version.
Going to wait until they reveal more info about the game in general, and Torghast specifically. Besides, Iām not in the habit of preordering anything these days.
