Anyone else have a haunted computer?

Strange things happen to my work computer at night, usually after 8PM. The joke is it’s Ron, a long time coworker who passed away earlier this year :scream:

If you have a wireless keyboard/mouse probably some signal overlap with another keyboard/mouse.

Check to make sure your system itself isn’t compromise and that wasn’t a nefarious party remoting into your system and trying to take control of it. (Run AV/Malware scans and make sure remote options in Windows are turned off.)

Check your current keyboard for any faults/shorts.

Clean install your keyboard/mouse drivers.

Closest thing I have to ‘haunted’ computer was when I was in high-school I had a pair of headphones that I used on my computer which always ended up being hung on my chair next to my bed.

I would wake up in the middle of the night hearing voices even though the computer was off. Couldn’t tell where they were from.

Genuinely thought for several months that I was hallucinating and/or schizophrenic.

Then one weekend night at like 3 AM which is when I would usually hear the voices I was up all night playing games, had a quiet moment and leaned back in my chair and boom voices.

My headphones were built and angled just right that during certain nights with certain atmospheric conditions they were, without power (yes that’s possible I looked it up), intercepting and playing radio station broadcasts. It would only happen for a few moments, but long enough to wake me up thinking I heard voices.

Electronics are fun.

I miss the defrag tool that Norton had, such a pretty tune played while it was working. Bach I think.

don’t ever use norton, LIKE EVER!

most virus makers test their virus on norton as the first thing they do! like c’mon bro use your brain!

If you think you got some viruses just re format your pc, and bam brand new pc in 15 mins,

Yes when I started WoW I started on an old Viao laptop. It was screwy to begin with, but the drinks spilled on the keyboard over time made it a nightmare.

I’d be spamming buttons on my mmo mouse and chat would read “37211256384ws628”

The num lock key would swap randomly and id end up role play walking toward the boss.

So many deaths because my swap form from feral back to resto stuck and I’d be hitting bark skin rather than rejuvenate. The enviably happened on the snake things in eye in BfA. So many wipes because I knocked a jack and coke over…

are you experiencing psychosis?

is a “friend” messing with you?

did someone drop any liquids in there without you knowing maybe?

did it even happen?

is anything real?

Happened to me once 30 years ago or so in a math dept computer lab. My classmate had just discovered how to use tele-terminals to take over desktops across our little network. I have to admit that for a couple of minutes he had me very confused as my terminal started spitting up “all work and no play …” on a loop then spontaneously popping up a flight simulator.
