Anyone else feels like Dragon Flight is not rewarding?

The Primals are who the war is with though.

The war between the faction. Common I have to spell it out? In past games there’s been 2 wars, the Alliance and Horde war, and the story threat. Now it’s just the story threat.

The faction war hasn’t been prominent in every expansion. In Wotlk, we were jousting with the opposing faction and racing to kill LK. In Cata, we were working with Thrall.

I would say most of WoW has been more of a cold war than all out war outside of MoP and BFA.

They said a while back that regular flight will be introduced to the dragon isles eventually. Not sure when “eventually” is, but it will come.

Not to pry into why you don’t use a mouse, but I have read about other accessibility options for folks who can’t use a standard mouse. You might want to look into something like that if you think it could help you. Dragon riding is loads of fun.

Not missing much imho. Once you get the glyphs, and tree unlocked it is better for a short time, but then it just feels gimmicky all over again lol. This expansion again just my opinion is all about trying to make talent trees new, and exciting, and a profession revamp. Raids, and dungeons pretty much the same with just different pixel monsters to fight. Invasions are a complete fail imo, unless you are into trash mob grinding. It was to much to much to ask to get Legion type invasions, or even BFA faction type assaults I guess

Yep, you’re realizing what some of has known since before DF released. The newness and honeymoon phase has rapidly reached its peak and we are in the steady decline into insanity. DF is every expansion since Legion, with much less. The new feature, Dragon Riding doesn’t have enough inherent gameplay value to be long lasting or interesting. Artifacts/HoA-Islands-Warfronts/Maw-Torghast etc had their downsides and people despised the grind associated with them but they were undoubtedly something to do that was new and long lasting. DF is just non-rewarding dailies, dungeons and raids. Raid log expansion pretty much, and majority of my friends list is back to being dead. If people thought SL was long, this is gonna be a looooong couple years in DF.

This is exactly what I did. I quit in like, the second week of SL because I was sick of rep grinds and facing covenant grinding was just too much for me. I came back a few months ago and the game has felt so much better to play. I think part of what brings me back to WoW is it’s art style. I like the cartoony, not hyper-realistic design; if I want realism, I’ll go outside.

This honestly doesn’t bother me, I barely use any of the regular mounts I have; all of my characters ride the same mount outside of DF. Really, all I care about with the mount is that it takes me from point A to point B, but I can understand the frustration of having 500+ choices and being told you can only use 4 of them.

Everywhere, it is everywhere, DF pretty much throws money in my face as if it holds nothing but contempt; same with gear. Of course, I can see how it could be an issue for people who don’t gather since this toon doesn’t gather, but you collect so much grey junk and green items that every time I go to vendor things, it’s usually a 200-300 gold profit from just running around doing basically nothing.

Well, yes, they are a corporation and corporations exist purely to make money. The caps are there to get people to slow down, life is to be savoured. If everything was available to you day one with no limiting factors, the only people who’d still be playing are those who don’t play for end game content because the people who raid and do M+ would have already maxed out what they want from it. The game has to have gates that open at set times, otherwise players just gorge themselves and lose interest.

I love Torghast. It provides me a way to feel a sense of progression because I don’t raid or do M+, but in Torghast, I’ve got floors and wings to work through. It’s not perfect, nothing ever is, but I certainly enjoy it.

I never cared about the war tbh

The biggest feature is a gimmick that restricts actual mounts we have previously earned and mount usage in general. Gets old real fast.

The reps and currencies are already becoming redundant and worthless, unless you place a high value on cosmetics, which if you’ve been playing the game for several expansions already, you probably have all the t-mogs, pets and mounts you could ever need.

The loot system is terrible and completely unrewarding for the time you have to put in at a CHANCE of actually getting anything you really want or need as an upgrade. For the time and difficulty, it takes to succeed in a high key or complete a multiple kill raid… just to feel like that time was wasted.

And here’s the worst part… all the loot is disposable and replaceable way too quickly. Seasonal vendor trash. Quick aside… in classic, you get your BiS, you might be good for a couple of years. Gear actually mattered and it was a huge deal when you got it.

The current game’s entire design system needs a complete overhaul, not the shiny paint over the same old rusted, broken trash. Devs mailing it in every expansion and the players keep thinking, this will be the one where things change for the better… AND THEY DON’T!

Couldn’t agree more with this post.

Inb4 I don’t care about anything but logging in and handing my money away.

I like when a month after an xpac releases, you see someone that has an upgradable 4 set from the vault. I just wonder why I haven’t seen one tier peice at all? Sure, they drop in raids, but group loot makes it were anyone can take it. Even if they already have a better version. The whole system is crap.

So long as there are some who spend the money, real change isn’t needed in the eyes of those who sit behind a desk and collect millions.

The irony here is the system all of those people use to get ahead, like the vault, aren’t equal for everyone. You say that’s good and it keeps people from getting bored. The flip side is the rest of us who struggle to get anything good from rng just quit because our time becomes more valuable somewhere else.

Dragon riding wq, turning in obsidian keys amd crafting will get you a good amount of gold. Gearing is like its always been so idk about that complaint. Then lastly i would find a guild if you feel alone.

I went from 250ish to 383 in a month of playing scrub content. If i can do it…anybody can do it.

To the OP, your post sounds like laziness to me. DF is by far the easiest expansion to get gear in.

While blizz made a really good step forward for a lot of things like less systems, timegating, new professions, etc. it now shows what the greatest weaknesses are.

  1. Story/Theme: I cant seem to get attached to this expansion in terms of story and theme. I think the zones are well made, the ingame cinematics have improved, a lot of detail everywhere. But it lacks the Warcraft feeling. WoD, Legion and even BfA had it. I hope with the return of Chris Metzen that we will go back to these type of themes and stories. DF feels too Disney in many regards and that simply doesn’t fit with Warcraft.

  2. Challenges like the Mage Tower or Artifact Transmogs in general were a really good addition for class theme and progress that wasn’t tied to player power. And yet it was fun and good content for people who wanted to engage in it. Especially the transmog thing seems to be a big letdown this expansion besides maybe a few Tier sets. I personally hope that next expansion will bring back class halls in some form along with class specific challenges for awesome transmog and mounts in regards to your class. The fact that ilvl becomes obsolete every patch makes the gear treadmill less appealing the more often you go through it. To this day people do Legion content for the amazing style gear. Its theme was also much better in many ways (burning legion / suramar / … )

Definitely feels unrewarding when it comes to raiding. Group loot, and how easily it’s cheesed in pugs by having friends/guildmates need roll for you, has killed any desire I had to set foot in raids.

Until group loot is removed from pugs again im fruitlessly boycotting raids for M+. My tier will either come in vault or catalyst in future patches and i’ll just take the L on my trinkets.

Professions are the only thing I’m not enjoying this expansion. Everything else has been fun.
Dragon riding is my favorite. I really want to use it on older content and more mounts.

If you’re referring to my opinion on gating, I’m mostly talking about the intervals in which major content is released. If the whole expac dropped at once, with everything available from day one, players would max out their characters within a few weeks.

RNG is a PITA, I agree, I’ve had my battles with it as well. I rely on rares, weekly world bosses, and storms to get my gear, either through drops or materials to have things crafted. The system by which players gear up isn’t great, and it is a time sink.

With the exception of the Primal egg looking currency thing in the Elemental Storms, the storms are a great way to gear up quickly that respects your time. If a storm is in Nokhud or Brakenhide, you win even faster because there’s always a large group to join to maximize farming. Easy win on loot if you’re fussed about group loot and such

I don’t disagree that limiting dragonriding to the 4 mounts isn’t a bit of a let down, but the old mounts aren’t ‘ready’ for that system… what I -do- complain about is the WoD style mount drops, where every mount is an old system mount instead of a dragonriding mount (in WoD, almost nothing dropped flying mounts). For an expansion built to incentivize dragonriding, I am legit disappointed there aren’t more full skins to unlock… buuuuuuut… we are in patch freaking 0… they have time to fix this…
(also related tangent, can someone explain why legion appearances was something to chase, but dragonriding glyphs don’t feel rewarding to you? Personally I got the one artifact appearance I wanted and largely ignored the others)

The cap and gating is standard in every expansion

There’s gold literally everywhere, from races to random mogs for auction, to the obsidian keys, to the usual herbs and ore, hell even fish is selling nicely, and there are even fish for scribes and jewelcrafters to smuuush.

I personally love dragonriding, and I understand why others might not… but when they eventually add pathfinder… the races will still use the current system… so you’re kinda locking yourself out of a chunk of gameplay… and I doubt regular mounts will do you much good in (any difficulty, but specifically) Mythic Nokhud Offensive…

I really hate saying it, but it does sound like you’re burned out on the game. It happens to the best of us. As for the alone-ness, a guild that fits your playstyle is the best suggestion I can give
