We all know better.
Just bring over the Diablo team, make the tower just endless greater rifts with crazy affixes â but no timer. Everyoneâs happy!
It is exciting to me too.
I would if it was a solo challenge content, but just like visions thereâs no reason to do them solo since it is easier and you get more rewards as a group
If they can actually do justice to the word random, then yes. Iâve never seen any dungeon or encounter that felt random in this game sadly. Every repeatable system is highly scripted and gets boring on the half dozenth attempt.
I am looking forward to it. I love the procedural instances in Diablo and City of Heroes. I like that this implementation will work will 1-5 people as well.
The point of doing it solo is the challenge.
Iâm excited for it, sounds like m+ without the timer, just dungeon crawl it out until you canât get any further and then come back and try again next week
Iâm definitely excited. But Iâm also worried because it seems impossible to balance this unless you specifically cater to each spec of each class for solo. Otherwise some classes will just dominate compared to others in a solo setting.
Being able to do them as a duo makes me look forward to them.
I have a friend I like to do islands with, but weâre required to take a random player along. Ditching the random player will be nice.
Otherwise, I share the same skepticism that has already been expressed in this thread.
They are one of the most repeatable content in the game that way.
You could do 10 thousand islands and never see the same combos.
I actually um, never noticed, to me Molten Cray is always Molten Cray it never changes. In contrast, Tower of the Dawned sounds like a diablo dungeon that always changes.
In fact this whole thing inspired me to play the first act of D3 on a class I hadnât tried yet, and I noticed that the random dungeon finder in that game was working out pretty well.
You can create artificial challenge by doing all content naked, if thereâs no reward thereâs little reason to bother, nobody will care if you did it solo when they have better gear
Since you seem to be from the future, could you give us some more insights on the expansion?
Torgust is literally just the next version of visions of nzoth.
In the visions it makes no sense to do them solo because doing them as a group is ridiculously easier due to the fact that you can get revived if you fail, thereâs no reason to do them alone because doing them in a group is so much more efficient.
Oh well these are my predictions on how the expansion is going to play outâŠ
In the dracula place, we are going to overthrow the tyrant for not doing his job in running the afterlife properly.
In the Druid place, most likely souls will have to be sacrificed to save everyone else to preserve the balance.
In the Bastion and undead place, just cool things going on, no difficult choices to make as itâs the druid place thatâs suffering the most from lack of Anima.
Sylvanas is going to be a boss in 9.2 and get her butt handed to her, and itâs 50/50 whether she will get a redemption story or be dragged down into the Maw.
We will restore balance by releasing the innocent souls from the Maw that donât deserve to be there, but then, we will accidentally release the most evil, violent and vicious soul from the depths of the Maw to unleash havoc on all of creationâŠ
Hogger. On Mythic Difficulty.
Yeah def dont want timers, they limit the experience.
A good deal would be bosses every 5th floor from around the world/dungeons/raids.
Just make it like mage tower, everyone loved mage tower.
Apparently this is something that can be done solo to help us progress to like endgame if so then heck yes I am excited being able to have a way solo to feel like I am progressing is so sweet.
if it ends up anything like the battle towers in blade and soul: im extremely excited.
if it ends up like islands: im very pessimistic.
if this ends up being wildly fun and popular i hope they carry it through to every future xpack moving forward, as this has the potential to be evergreen content this game direly lacks.
the battle towers in blade and soul is essentially a solo raid. as you climb the tower beating the encounters you jump up to adequate challenges like how your M+ key bounces up when you obliterate very low keys. eventually you get up to challenging encounters around your gear level and you need to learn the boss encounters and there mechanics to be able to overcome them. when you push yourself and overcome the tougher and tougher challenges, eventually you need to tap out because your gear and skill cant take you any further and you are rewarded based on your performance.
basically like endless proving grounds back in MOP but with far more variation until you get to your skill/gear level challenges and you need to learn the fights. a lot of the fights ( because of the mechanics of the games ) end up being heavy positional and telegraphed attacks from the bosses you need to learn. lots of dodging ground effects and learning the bosses ability strings. so that way casters dont get to just sit back and pummel the bosses, they still need to do the mechanics.
like other posters have said, some specs like tanks, BM, demo are going to have a fairly easy time, so hopefully blizz take that into consideration.
I havenât played BnS since it got localized, but the towers werenât randomized, were they? Every floor of the Tower of the Damned is, which makes me think itâll just operate like Palace of the Dead or Heaven-on-High from FF14.
I think it wonât be very good⊠in order for wow to have interesting single player content it has to be on the level of mage towers in terms of tuning.
The tower is just going to be crushed by healer, tank, dps comp till it scales to insta gibs.
