Remember how much you just spent on that big mac w/ extra large fries and diet coke? Around $12, right?
The amount of value we get out of WoW as a form of entertainment is astounding. Just last night, I spent $19.99 to RENT the movie Greenland…to RENT. Why so much? Because it didn’t premier in theaters so this is the new model for movies not releasing on the big screen.
A typical trip to the movie theaters easily gets to that $20 when you factor in the ticket and popcorn/soda. For literally ~2 hours of enjoyment (and another 2 hours of pre-movie ads).
The point is, stop complaining about having to pay for a form of entertainment that yields significantly more value than many other forms of entertainment. So what if a very limited amount of content is time-gated, it doesn’t impede your ability to do other things within the game while you wait for a reset. You’re still getting your money’s worth.
I bet you have logged more hours in WoW on a per month basis versus what you put on Netflix paying $12/mo.
