Well hate to break it to you but there is nothing in 5.3 worth caring about. 1 day of content to do the leggo quest & brawler’s guild. Only thing that matters is when 5.4 comes out as far as new MoP content.
Yes I’m aware, I know what’s in the patches. It’s still the next patch to come out and knowing when it’s being planned is an indication of release progress
We can only base it upon assumptions.. usually about a month give or take a week is typical PTR cycle.. probably want to time it around other WOW releases if I had to imagine.. season 1 starts I think at the end of next lockout in Mid.. so I imagine a week after that it probably a fair window. So 2 weeks-ish? Again.. all we can do is assume because these people wouldn’t communicate if it gave them a ticket to miss all traffic in LA for life.. let alone just to let us know.
Lol I don’t think the timing of 5.3 matters.
The only significant content in it is 1 hour worth of solo scenarios for the ilevel 600 cloak. Its not going go bring people back.
Oh, a few more brawler’s guild bosses. And some world pvp nonsense no one will do.

I don’t remember mentioning it would be great. In fact, it is going to be insanely lame. Probably should have been done and gone already.
Yes you can only reach rank 8 right now.
I’m in this camp. It’s barely a blip on the screen, so drop it now and maybe, hopefully, push SoO forward a couple of months.
But I believe they said spring (still ten days from now) for 5.3 and summer for SoO, so that’s wishful thinking.
The timing matters because we know we are in store for MORE tot after the patch, the sooner they release it the sooner we can get out of here. Im tired of ToT
5.3 is still gonna be ToT 5.4 is SoO which is in summer meaning we have at best 2 or 3 months of ToT left to go.

PTR still doesn’t have the upgrading they mentioned, so don’t expect it anywhere soon.
Also I was again right by saying the escalation patch wouldn’t come before Midnight, and probably late March/early April. For any doubters here 
It’s clear that MoP Classic is their lowest priority, probably even lower than Hardcore at this point. Zirene wasn’t even assigned to the escalation patch. It’s that bad right now.
You forgot: Heroic scenarios and item upgrading (+8).
Originally it also nerfed the XP required to level, which was something that brought players back. In Classic it came in 5.5.1.
Sadly I think business “practices” are the reason for the time table. They clearly want to announce something at Blizzcon. Pushing things up threatens that time table that is mostly just made up in their minds. Maybe, or probably, the mythical Classic+ project – whatever that happens to be to them. Silence probably is because if its not ready for whatever reason they can pivot to a dump out and forget of WOD and WOTLK. Not to mention this company operates on a “hype” cycle rather than any sort of actual business sense. I mean I hear about other games that sell massive copies and have massive player bases sometimes 5 years before they come out. “Hype” is usually a tool for a quick buck strategy which is the only thing that has me worried at this point.. oh.. and that its Blizzard Entertainment.. you know the company that you used to just buy anything blind from and knew it would be good. Now its more like.. get it.. FOMO.. if it misses projections abandon it Entertainment.
I assume since it’s the same raid tier, there won’t be a new PVP season for this patch?
Upgrades to PVP gear? Something good I can spend honor or conquest on? Anything?
No new season, however 5.3 is when all of the big PvP changes from Pandaria were added such as removing resilience from gear and making it 65% baseline for everyone, and it’s when Deepwind Gorge was added. I don’t know how much of this is already in Classic due to how content is released, I don’t PvP
More specifically:
-all gear in battlegrounds and arenas scaled down, but not up, to ilevel 496
-resilience removed from gear, but not gems and enchants, and 65% resilience was made baseline for all characters level 85+
-due to gear above 496 being scaled down to it, elite items are basically just cosmetic rewards
-season 13 gear is now 496, up from 493
-Battle Fatigue increases to make PvP gear and PvP power better for healers
-Players that have earned 25k conquest can now purchase regular season 13 conquest gear with honor. The rating requirement for season 13 weapons is also removed

We can’t get 5.4 without 5.3, so it seems obvious to ask when 5.3 will be before asking about 5.4.
