Any updated guides around?

Most of the guides in wowhead, and battlepets are outdated and no longer works for Celestial Tournaments and other quests. Spent over 4 hours trying to get new pets and realized the strategies in wowhead guides no longer works.

Anyone know an updated site with good reliable guides?

Thank you in advance!

This is Xu-Fu’s Pet Battle Strategies. They tend to be the most up to date strategies that most of us use. There are multiple options for most fights, that let most collections have a chance to find possibilities.

If you just highlight the URL and click the Preformatted Text icon ( </> ) it will then encase the URL and allow it to be properly displayed (albeit not clickable) and then anyone can just copy/paste it as it is to visit it.

You mean like this? Thanks!

Yes.

You’re welcome.

Some of the Wowhead guides are horrible, they seem like they’re written by someone that wants to show off rare and hard to get pets more than working strats.

For pet dungeons I just use the guide to copy paste the trainers name and go to that page for the comments.

Xu-Fu’s pet battle site is a very useful for all pet battles in the game. Highly suggest the site for anyone doing Pet Battles.

@Midgit

The website works great! Thank you very much!

Thank Kazzumii, too. We’re glad to help a fellow pet battler. Please ask any time you have questions.

All guides may need revision come pre patch as pets get buffs and nerfs.

At Xu-Fu’s, we’ve been working on ways to prepare the site for the changes:

We’re also looking at potentially implementing some form of banner on the strategy/page to warn people if a strat has been impacted by the changes, and not tested by one of the site staff, or strategy creator, to check and see if it’s still viable.

Anyone got good guides for Stratholme?

Xufu’s doesnt work, or needs shop/super rare pets.

Most of them use bunnies and wild caught pets, or ones that are pretty cheap on the AH. Are you having issues with a particular fight?

Not true, Ghastly Kid, Zoom, Lil’ Bling, Stormwing, Yu’la etc.

Some of those does not work, and one fail is a full reset.
Spent 2 days trying to get the pets and doing the strategies of Xu Fu site and its a waste of time.
I have no access to some of the pets too.

Are there alternate sites with more correct strategies and accessible pets?

The alternatives are in the tab on the right side of the strategy, each fight has at least 8+ strategies. When you hover your mouse over the Alternatives tab, it’ll show you all the ones available for that fight.

ETA: We also have a new tool on the site that allows you to build a dungeon team once you register with the site and upload your pet collection. Once you do all that, go to the main page for Stratholme here: https://www.wow-petguide.com/index.php?m=Stratholme and scroll to just above the comments.

Then, choose Normal or Heroic mode. It’ll give you import strings to load into Rematch to set up a full team for the dungeon. The only thing it doesn’t currently do is pull tdScripts for the fights.

No offense, but have you actually tried them?

By doing the alternate strategies, it meant i needed at least 9 rabbits, and 7 Zandalari kneebiters.

I’m DragonsAfterDark on Xu-Fu’s, so yes, I’ve tried them quite a bit, since I have a strategy for every fight for this dungeon, and as part of Xu-Fu’s staff I test and verify the strategies.

Well, I found that for most of the strategies, they do not really work as the back pets vary greatly between undeads, critters, and magic pets.

Also, they use way too many crabs, zandalari dinos and rabbits.

Just my feedback. To date I have gathered 6 zandalari dinos and 8 rare rabbits yet still unable to complete the pet dungeon using your strategies as eventually we run out of them at the end.

These Pet Battle Dungeons are meant to be challenging for people who have a lot of max level pets, so they are going to be extra challenging for people who don’t have a lot of pets. But, not impossible.
In Stratholme, most of your opponents are Undead, and have weak damage to Aquatics. So having a lot of Aquatics with strong vs Undead should make sense. Sometimes the opposing team has random backline pets, so you need to make adjustments. Flag out, make the adjustment, and restart.
I only have two Critters on my roster for Stratholme, and no rabbits. I use a lot of frogs with Tongue Lash, and Chitterspines with Black Claw/Swarm combos. Parasitic Boarfly is useful, and Foulfeather/Ikky.
The Boss fights are more specific, and some strategies work better than others.
I have a lot of pets, but I checked through my teams, and I don’t use any shop pets or super rare pets. You should probably get a couple Mechanical Pandaren Whelplings and Lil’ Blings.

Looking at your collections, I would suggest that you level up more pets to 25. I did not try to attempt to do the pet dungeons until I was able to pick up a good amount of suggested pets from the dungeons and level them to 25. With the lack of being able to heal your pets between fights, you need to have as much pets at level 25 ready to take place of the fallen allies.
