It kind of sounds like you didn’t play Vanilla Warcraft and WOW! Are you in for a treat!
Yes, there are many eccentric and exceptional builds; the trick will be what works for your specific play style. This has been largely removed from Retail Warcraft, what you are stuck with in Retail is what we used to call “Cookie Cutter” builds. It used to be that people would go to sites like “Icy Veins” and copy whatever Icy said was the best build so you ended up with a bunch of people specked the exact same way, “cookie cutter”. Now, in Retail your options are so limited that it really doesn’t matter what you select, it’s pretty much the same as everything else, “cookie cutter”.
With Vanilla and I’m assuming Classic will be the same you have an actual talent tree, the talent tree will have talents that say things like “Increases chance to crit by 2%” or “increases damage by shadow by 3%” What you will have to do is get you a “Damage Meter” like “Recount” and go to the target dummies and test to figure out which talents are additive and which are multiplicative. It rapidly becomes confusing so make sure you keep notes on how your talents behave. It also helps to do this naked initially as some of your gear may have an attribute that creates random variations in your damage output. This is called “Min/Maxing” and is the only way to get peak damage out of your avatar.
Now it may be that your top damage build doesn’t lend itself to your play style. For example, you kite and therefore like to stick to the periphery of a combat but your casts are long and it makes it hard for you to be mobile. Well, you’ll have to give up a little damage to shorten your cast time. Things like that are common in Vanilla and I assume Classic.

What’s this build trying to do? I can’t make out its purpose. You’re not using Arcane Missiles as a main nuke, are you?
There’s lots of really bad builds out there. Anything is playable if you outgear the content.
Try hotw Druid. You can heal/tank any dungeon, ot/heal majority of raid content (swap to other spec when boss is undoable) and are unkillable in pvp. Does have a large skill ceiling though and will need to keep practicing to get good at

Honestly. I just wanted a little bit of everything. Never said this would be a good build. It probably isn’t, but hey if it gets to the point I’m too trash for even dungeons I can respec later.
Yah im going to evenly split my talent points across all 3 tree’s so when someone inspects me their gonna ask wtf is this noob doing then kick me from group. after the 5th wipe or something. So I will be a enhanced elemental healing shaman.
