The game isn’t balanced around world pvp…
It’s balanced around 3v3.
You literally cannot balance world pvp when one team can summon a 40 man raid to mess with 1 person if they want to.
Lasso is fine, and it sounds like you’re just bad when facing against it. Elemental has a history of being a strong pvp spec with and without lasso.
But it’s not and never has been. Stop lying to yourself.
I doubt you ever play the game like I do. Just bare bones and pug. You tapped out a long time ago you just are in denial about how bad you really are.
then why are all the pvp tournaments focused around 3v3…?

Even with Lightning Lasso, Elemental, while S-tier, has only a few comps that work — where its not even the workhorse of the team, but an enabler for the other dps.

lightning lasso is ~15k damage over 5 seconds.
if you want to let me free cast for 5 seconds i will do way more damage than 15k

As if needing pvp gear to pvp is anything new and hasn’t been around since Burning Crusade.

then i would be less worried about the 15k and more worried about the 40k+ i can unleash in 5seconds.
But I start at either 15 k less heath or no trinket and you get the 5 sec free cast 15 sec later
15k less health isnt that big of a deal.
In world pvp, no one is going to engage with lasso unless you are already low health.
It’s used to make space between yourself and a melee, and finish off a burst target if the burst didn’t do it’s job. You might also see it used to counter certain enemy dps cooldowns.
It is when you get another passive 15k 30sec later.
okay but thats still only 30k damage over 40 seconds… thats not much tbh.
Yeah and my ascendence is only like 40k over 3 min
its not really the ascendance thats scary… its the chain harvest instant damge + like a stormstirkes and such. its the damage you can get off wih CH in 3 seconds.
