For those who aren’t already lucky enough to play their favorite race on their favorite faction, what would you switch to?

I don’t entirely see why this kills any lore, but I do agree with the act.
If not outright decoupling racial choice from faction membership, at least introduce a third that lets everyone congregate as friendlies instead of this ‘Unfriendly’ nonsense where I can’t buff and heal someone fighting a mob.
Aren’t void elves and night elves with the darkfallen barber shop options technically undead?

Gnome Druid Horde, Mechagnome Paladin Alliance. Also, Forsaken Shaman Alliance.
Race > faction. Why would you care if you are horde or alliance, it only matters for orcs and humans.
Undead used to be cool because Sylvanas was immensely pro forsaken against everyone. Now were a dumb council but the glory days are there. Join us!

I do not think we need nor should delete old content for this, it can be done organically in the expansion after The Last Titan or something.
Take Halo, for example. Eventually, the Faction war between Human vs Covenant had to end. This eventually lead a mixture of Alien races teaming up, and even living together.
The History is still there. Hingeheads still Glassed planets, and hoomans still desecrated holy relics. Combat still flares up from time to time in certain areas, because of misunderstandings or old tensions.
That can happen here.
OOh, another good example is The Dragon Prince. The Humans and Sun Elves living together in that camp, and one of the humans deeply offends an Elf. That was good writing.
I’d love to play as a Man’ari Eredar (recoloured Draenei, I guess) Warlock on the Horde side. I know the red skin and the green / fel eyes already exist, but they’re not as neat looking as some of the skins used by Man’ari Eredar NPCs.
I love how we had a book that ALMOST gave us alliance Forsaken, only for Sylvanas to lose her entire mind because of Shadowlands lore and massacre her own people. And then the conversation just, never circled back around.
