Any older crowd who are not about pushing content playing?

Somebody who spends 18 hours a day mining is not casual.

I’m 39 and in the same boat. Been playing almost 20 years. I enjoy world content, LFR and solo content. Haven’t done many delves yet because my character is low geared and real life stuff coming up. Not sure I like them yet.

I used to push heroic and mythic raiding, but now I don’t care about raid schedules, numbers, or all the drama. In the end each expack, each patch; its just the same old grind with different lipstick on it.

Don’t get my started on mythic dungeons, don’t have to reaction time for those ever or the patience of the folks that enjoy that content.

There are tons of us!

Well, I would call that kinda obsessive, but hey opinions differ.

I mean, if someone just casually plays a sport, they’re not applying for the Olympics. It’s not about time spent.

55, eat well and such so I only look 54.

My focus now is Delves and I’m enjoying it, save for the hot fix wonkyness.

I’m playing more with TWW than I have in a long time, but I miss my friends, just me now.

Will be 54 at the end of the year. I don’t currently do any group content because the speed required just isn’t fun. I might if there were a like minded group of people but that just doesn’t seem to be the case. Even so called “Casual Guilds” are all about speed running these days.

Had hoped Delves would provide some sort of progression but every hotfix seems to push me back a tier.

I would call a casual player, simply one who does not play competitively.

Me too!

Me too!

Me! Me!

Aand you lost me. I’m the annoying one who wanders off to pick flowers while the group wants to quest. I find it’s better if I’m just solo out in the world.

I used to raid twice a week with a baby on my lap, multitasking. Now I have to have the TV off if I’m trying to focus on a minigame in the game. You know, those games you have to do to open a treasure chest - I need full concentration.

I decided back in my 30s that I didn’t like raid guilds.
The social games, the workoad

I was in an EQ2 raid/pvp guild called Karnage. The people were great, the guild leader was an unflappable british gentleman. I guess that guild spoiled it for me.

Now I just do LFRs for the content and to get neat items. I play to have fun, not have a burden of requirements on my real life and watch people playing their social games.

I have a PVP guild, and we are not trying to be elite. We have enough accomplishment IRL. It’s just a guild of people who like eachothet and like PVP.

Delves are looking more and more like content for the M crowd, and less like solo content.

Rogues, mages, pretty much any class designed for groups gets stomped trying to solo them.

57 here, and hubby who also plays is 60. Been playing since 2008. I have a demanding job in HR dealing with people issues, so I play when I can (it’s therapy!).

No interest in anything hardcore. We used to run a guild, but no more. I love to fly, gather things, and collect pets/mounts. Really looking forward to the 20th Anniversary so I can run BRD and pvp in Korgath’s revenge.

He prefers pvp, and being retired, he can pvp 'til his hearts content.

Same, I need this content, I was having a lot of self validating fun for a change!

I got to fill up a Vault slot
for a minute I felt like I was something, that confidence has fueled my motivation to play again.

I think Delves will get there, I really hope so, as this is game saving stuff for me if I’m being frank.

Will have to wait and see. My subscription is set to run out in February but is currently canceled due to this debacle.

Not surprising really, given WoW’s decades old reputation for its largely hateful and toxic community
as evidenced in many threads round here
I doubt many new players actually start playing at all, let alone those in the demographics playing FPS or even other MMOs with a far more friendly and hospitable community, e.g. FF14.

It’s too bad what became of the community. It’s probably the number one eyesore we have.

Got my 1st computer back in 1978. I don’t have the agility / dexterity that I use to because of finger amputations. Always have phantom pain in my amputated fingers and have neuropathy in my feet that cause a lot of pain as well. But I try to play and help others as much as I can but because of the toxic groups I had when I came back to the game before Shadow Lands launched, I have been in a guild of just me.

I don’t do a lot of group content because of my inability to perform to my best and don’t want to ruin another person’s fun because of me. I thought Delves would be the answer but so far, I am not having as much fun with them.

Same. Pretty much word for word what I’m looking for.

For the people wishing Delves are for the solo player, they can be. Nothing says you have to do the highest Tiers. Just do what is comfortable and such. Bountifuls will give gear and plus the vault weekly. As you progress, you can then do higher Tiers if you want.

We’re the same age, and the last time I seriously raided was as main tank and off tank during WotLK, with the occasional MoP raiding as dps. I have no interest in anything Mythic+, and now much prefer to quest and enjoy the beautiful Artwork and I like to follow the story, even the bad ones are interesting enough lol.

I am older, born in 81. Been a solo player sense the end of WoTLK the gearscore people in wrath just burned me out, and then later it became the IO score. I just don’t enjoy pushing some score. I am enjoying the new delve content though and will be pushing those.
