If I mained a NE, finally got my heritage set, and found that almost the entire thing was painted on with the only 3D bit being a little skirt, I’ll be honest when I say I’d be a little miffed.

Kaldorei culture thinks very little of nudity or near nudity.

Since introduction in WC3 that armor actually makes perfect sense for them.

Will Blizzard actually do it? Probably not due to recent events. Which is a shame.

Can’t speak to that.

But even in our lovely real world there cultures that think little of nudity.

Having varying cultural norms in game is honestly refreshing.

I like it. Nearly naked elf girls is one of the reasons I started playing this game.

I don’t care about recent events. I like skimpy attire better than modest attire, and it be’s that way sometimes.

It was from an interview with WoWhead way back in early BFA.

“The current armor worn by a lot of the Night Elf NPCs is not planned as the Night Elf Heritage Armor”

Ion went on to clarify in another interview that they had no plans whatsoever to add it as a wearable armor. But that was in a written interview and i cannot find it.

Edit: It has also been 5 years since the armor was added to the game files and it is still not usable by players. So there is that too. If BFA had been vanilla, we would now be half way through WotLK. That’s how long it has been.

I remember ion saying it might be inspired by it but it won’t be that.

Which is honestly the biggest miss wow may ever make if it’s true.
