Any chance they fix Assa?

Yeah, they give sin a 20-40% aura buff like they’ve done in 3 of the last 4 expansions

Is m0s bad? I’m almost done spamming heroic and not noticing anything terrible (been play Assass mostly). Dps is competitive and obviously better when trash live longer, single target/bosses kinda boring tho.

This is my first season trying to main dps in M+ so I might switch back to a hybrid class & heal if all rogue options are boring and/or tuned low.

“Some players” is like “experts say”…it’s fake news. The spec play is disjointed slop and ST is abysmal. Until devs stop maining DK and Mage we’re stuck with thirsty thirds.

I tried to fight an Unholy DK yesterday and got jumped. By his summons. I didnt know DK got summons like that. 20 mobs just spawned and it wasnt the usual army of the dead. Come to find out thats just how the spec is now???

The amount of theme they put into other classes just to leave Rogues feeling like trash is shameful.

yeah they sorta cooked with UDK. cooked a lil too hard if you ask me.

Guide writer or not Whyspyr has the most cooked takes and never hits relevant rank in logs. Sooo I don’t think that one is the best source of insight into what the class needs/doesn’t need.

I want DF and TWW assassination back. I played it after pre patch in solo Q (hitting duelist for the past 6 ish seasons decent pvp exp) and functionally it’s not great. Energy starved, boring rotation. Oh and the lack of real damage while having ultra pruned cc is really, really bad for the squishiest of the rogue specs.

For contrast I swapped to sub, a spec I haven’t played in pvp in nearly 6 years and ran up to 2500 MMV in about a half hour. VS’d two Assassination rogues and they were higher than me in assassination, however I just ran them over in Sub with no worries.

Personally I hope not. Assassination was the easiest of the three specs to play, and that was fine. It didn’t need to get any easier to play and in reality it really didn’t. It’s just functionally worse for no real reason atm because the actual rotation isn’t any harder to execute than TWW or DF was. I’d like to see the spec reverted back to the previous two expansions; no slower than that. Faster would be better but I’ll take what I can get at this point.

One of the reasons I stopped playing rogue right here.

Envenom should be a maintenance buff or moderate damage to spend when ur bleeds are down.

Not the primary spender u spam endlessly.

It’s making me miss something like expose armor again. I miss when we had the feeling of kind of taking people apart through layering debuffs. IMHO, that could and perhaps should be the direction to take sin. Thus providing some group utility and more interesting gameplay themeing than whatever this pooling nonsense is.

We almost have some with stuff like numbing poison and atrophic, it’s just underwhelming and passive. We could use some spice in the actual finisher rotational gameplay, and some kind of temporary damage taken debuff could be fun, imho.

After doing a few Mythic 0’s as Assassination I think I made it work and kind of figured out what I need to do. That being said, it’s a lot of work and blatantly unfun/boring to output sub optimal performance compared to Subtlety.

The issue with Assassination right now can’t be fixed by moving around some numbers, I think it’s fundamentally flawed right now in how it’s designed.

To respect my Guild’s time, I am probably going to go Subtlety just to output the most damage possible, but still hopeful that I can go back to Assassination at some point.

Like I said before, I think the pruning for Rogues was a reset button, we have a long way to go, and it will probably take one expansion at least to get us to a good spot.

It is kind of disappointing that the apex is basically “hehehe stabby knife go brrr” once every minute. Feel like they really could’ve done something more interesting.

It says it’s supposed to provide stacking energy regen, up to 80%. I don’t notice or feel any change in energy regen with these stacks.

IMO they need to take a look at the underlying math because energy regen just feels broken to me.

I get that with the change to crimson tempest, you no longer need as much energy income to keep bleeds up on multiple targets, seeing as it spreads bleeds AND gives combo points. So it makes sense that we don’t have infinite energy from aoe bleeding stuff.

However, if they want us to pool and then spam back to back envenoms for the Apex talent energy regen buff, they need to make that regen actually impactful.

One of my issues is that there isn’t anything that will work, even conceptually when it comes to fixing via tuning the apex values.

For Thistle tea to exist, energy must suck. If it doesn’t suck, thistle tea has no reason to exist. The apex talent buffing energy rate isn’t enough, primarily because it only addresses energy, and ignores that a lot of sin’s kit is limited by tea’s refresh rate.

If we get energy where it’s feeling good - tea also needs to be removed.

Otherwise the only way to really fix the energy issue would also involve giving us back tea charges somehow; but then we’re just keeping Tea and no one wants tea to stay.

The entire Sin campaign slogan at this point should be

“Fix Energy, Remove Tea.”

Agreed. Thistle tea is a bandaid to a larger energy problem. As others have said, venomous wounds is probably the first place to look at making a change.

I don’t like or want this purported “slow and calculating” play style they’re trying to force. I want to spam my buttons, not sit around auto attacking.

Notes are out for Tuesday and not a single thing for Sin. It’s gg, they’ve completely given up on it.

Those are PTR notes.

Tuning hot fixes are separate. Also keep in mind the PTR is ongoing with changes meaning if BlizZard is not satisfied with the first round of hot fixes they will do another round or announce additional changes that will be on the PTR on the following build.

I unfortunately would be surprised to see any changes beyond simple number tuning. Maybe they will buff Assassination energy in some way but I would not get your hopes up.

Where could I find both the PTR notes and tuning notes? I can’t find anything.

PTR notes are here:

Tuning isn’t up yet but some time before the 17th I imagine to see tuning notes.
