Hello everyone!
I am writing this post hoping I can berid myself of the anxiety I have with participating in Mythic dungeons.
I am relativley new to BFA, and have spent a lot of my time thus far grinding rep, working on pathfinders, and leveling alts because of one reason and one reason only: I am extremely anxious to begin healing Mythic dungeons.
I have been a healer in MMOs now going on 5 or so years, and while I was excellent in a previous game I feel that I will fail in WoW. I am all about self improvement, and I love to learn and become better. What drives me away from the PUGs is that I do not have enough dungeon experiene, and the fact that most of the premades I see are wanting fast runs, beating timers, etc.
Being new to WoW has been a great experience so far, and I have loved every minute of it. I just want to break through my barrier and finally get my feet wet in content so I can improve my gear. I have reached ilvl 411 through the basic means of gearing, but I am far from playing casually. I put in about 12-18 hours a day and now I’m ready to make more use of that time. I find myself a lot of times becoming demotivated to run harder content, and logging out in search for a new main because I feel that I just can’t begin healing Mythic’s, even though I know I can.
I do not want to bring this up in detail, but I am a military Veteran, diagnosed with PTSD and that is MOSTLY where a lot of my anxiety and paranoia comes from. Before you leave a comment like “Why do you play if you’re so stressed?” or “If you can’t handle it, don’t do it.”, I would like to make it very clear that I DO enjoy being a healer, and I WANT to learn it better.
My main point of this is to find out if there are any communities or anyone out there that could point me in the right direction to finding other players that are willing to lend me a hand and will accept my novice experience in my journey to learn this content. I can excel with groups that are players I have come to know, and I know that I will not excel continuously relying on PUGing.
Thank you for reading, and I look forward to see what you have to say!
