Anxiety affecting daily life

Yes please be easy on yourself. Sometimes we can get very harsh on ourselves by comparing and being all “I should be x/y/z” when what we need the most in this state is some love and kindness.

I also find that sometimes it helps so much to give yourself permission to just rest. Then after that check in with yourself if you’d like to take a walk, or maybe watch a movie or read a book. I find that things that spark my creativity helps a lot.

Ba I’m out of hearts again. Good call Furr and that’s a really good idea!

Weekly goals are another thing too. “I think this week I’ll take a walk everyday. Wash the dishes and clean the litter box” They may seam small but achieving those goals can be very good on a person’s mental state.

I take meds for it, they really do work, but it might take some trial and error to find the one that is right for you.

Be careful with edibles! They’re much harder to dose and they take a lot of experience with them to not get way too high. But edibles are what I use and I only consume a few mgs of THC with them purely as a way to calm my anxiety but still like, be a responsible adult and get stuff done instead of chilling on the couch eating Cheetos all day lol.

My wife has some pretty severe anxiety, and has ended up taking Fluxatine. It’s taken a while, but we’ve seen marked improvements overall.

Others have mentioned, and I full agree with making sure you’re taking care of your physical well being. Get some exercise, a balanced diet, and plenty of sleep. I know anxiety can mess with your sleep pretty significantly, but make it a priority.

You can also look into micro dosing psilocybin. There have been a lot of studies recently showing that it can help people with their anxiety and overall mood.

Oh these made me feel like my heart stopped. They were POTENT. I have had edibles before but idk WHAT MG those were but they put me on my rear end.

This is a good point too. For example, Zoloft works great for me but Lexapro had about as much of an effect as eating a tic tac would.

That’s definitely the perk of living in a legal state, the dosage of THC is labeled on the packaging, although sometimes it can be not super accurate.

Yeah that’s true. Yeah idk WHAT dosage those were but they knocked me out out.

Another thing you can do before your doctor appointment is trying a grounding technique

Google it (since i cant paste links :expressionless:)

4 -7 - 8 breathing can help as well.

Breathe in for a count of 4.
Hold for a count of 7.
Exhale for a count of 8.

Only do a few at first because it can make some people dizzy.

Had my first panic attack at age 34 last year. Spent the rest of the year with stomach problems and feeling sick.

Fast forward to this year, doc put me on Zoloft, 50mg, to help with depression/anxiety/unintended weight loss.

It has made a huge difference on my anxiety.

I still get anxiety but my brain has a much easier time ignoring it.

Am I full of energy and love life? Nope. Just not anxious about stuff.

FYI, I have spent my whole life refusing to take medications of any kind. I’m still not a fan of the stuff but it does make a difference.

Just talk to a doctor. See what happens.

Weed helps mine a lot. If it’s legal in your area, no harm in trying it. I take it with really strong Chamomile Tea. Works wonders.

The tea might even help on it’s own, if you live in one of those really dumb states.

This doesn’t just apply to anxiety. If someone tells you this when you are considering help just ignore them. You should not have to suffer in silence and getting help is not a bad thing.

Besides talking with your doctor if you have a very close friend or family member who you can confinde in lean on them for support. I have anxiety issues from my Biploar and I have good friends who are there for me and I am there for them. To be honest if I hadn’t been able to vent some of the stuff over the last few months I would have been in a much worse spot then I am atm.

I actually started MMOs when I was a kid struggling hard with anxiety. Something about expending all that anxious energy on a pvp server got me through a lot.

I had something similar about 10 years back. At work atm. I’ll try to offer tips at some point tonight.

I know exactly how you feel and it’s horrible but it also can go away.

Finding a book or game to immerse yourself could help.

The sad part is when you’re done with it and come
back to the horrifying reality which is real life.

I bury it under 300 lbs of solid determination, lack of sleep, and the resolution that failure is a learning experience

Medical weed works wonders for anxiety. Just get yourself a medical card if your state has them.
