Anti-semetic names - Guess it's ok?

Is this the new norm, where you can’t do or say anything offensive to certain people, but it’s open season on Jewish people? Not cool, Blizzard.

I reported a name several days ago, a name that refers to a certain body part and the size of it, yet that name remains. No excuse to let that one slide. You either tolerate it or you don’t, and if there hasn’t been a forced name change, then you tolerate it.

Name reports can take some time to be acted on if there are few reports coming in about it. People can also have name changes forced and use the same name over again. A name existing a couple days after you’ve reported it doesn’t mean blizzard approves of it.

Simply report the name each time you see it.

Unfortunately this is only a player to player discussion forum, so we can not give you a turn around time for name reports, or their investigations.

You should report it again, and if you have the opportunity to expound on your report, include the information there. Most times names deemed inappropriate are added to a can not use list, but that might take time also, of which again, as this is a player based discussion forum other posters would not know how long.

If a name is deemed to violate the rules, the GM staff will force a name change, if the player has had the ability to change it to the same name, that player might find they are facing a suspension rather than just a forced name change.

Kozzae is correct. Just because you haven’t seen anything happen yet doesn’t mean that a name is acceptable. And should a user choose to select the same or similar name, they’ll find themselves faced with stacking penalties for continued code of conduct violations.

Reporting really does work. We often see those who have been changed come here to post about it. So, I encourage you to not assume the worst and to continue reporting inappropriate names you may come across.

All reported names are queued for investigation. Their position in the queue is determined by the number of players reporting them but eventually, all names in the queue get reviewed.
