Yea another good post lol,
Just go to sleep.
Itâs unbiased system that doesnât care if you spent a min or are almost finished with a dungeon. You get kicked for any cause itâs 30 min wait.
It has shown to work more against players than for. It was to stop poeple from leaving after killing a boss, or holding the group hostage. However, now it became an easy way to remove someone that too slow, or is lost.
A system that takes time of the debuff for every boss killed would be a start as it shows participation in the dungeon, and would still give incentive to push forward.
I wonder how long you were offline for.
People do DC all the time but the other four people in your group decided they didnât want to wait for you to maybe come back.
It sucks that it happened but honestlyâŠ. Oh well?
I recall taping a beer bottlecap over the off button of my computer.
I have accidentally kicked my power strip off before while I was in a dungeon or LFR, came back to a debuff. Do you know what my thought was?
Dang. Fair.
And then I moved on with my night. Thirty minutes isnât a hardship, and there was no way for your group to know that you would be right back. Unless your cat is maliciously sitting there hitting your power off every ten minutes, this is a one-off instance and not a hardship.
If it IS happening every ten minutes, consider closing your cat outside the room you have your computer in.
Iâm genuinely curious, what kind of machine are you on that takes 5-10 minutes to get into Windows?
Itâs not an issue. Itâs by design.
This is the right mindset. âIt sucks, but oh well. Move on.â
Itâs a mindset that I really need to reinforce for myself, as someone with a short temper and anger management problems.
I mean is it?
Put yourself in their shoes. You just randomly logged off.
Perhaps a little hasty on their part. But this is a scenario where it is working as intended.
What is your proposed solution? You canât vote a DC for like 5 minutes? Then youâre fixing a problem for the minority and creating another problem for the majority.
PS my keyboard has a Sleep button on it and my cat presses it all the time. I do feel your pain.
I donât think itâs being voted off that theyâre annoyed about. Itâs the deserter debuff.
My solution to ppl getting kicked from dungeons is to not do things that make ppl want to kick you. A cat hitting your power button is just a fact of life that you have to deal with.
ah yes the classic my house is burning down i gotta log off
Have you done all the Delves? You get an 82K XP bonus in each one for the first time on a character. If you are part way through 79 one Delve aught to do it.
Follower Dungeons will also give you a lot of XP.
Group donât know why or care why you go AFK, only that you did go AFK.
itâs just 30 minutes.
Well judging from what I have seen from you on this thread here, Iâm kinda assuming it was your attitude that got your kicked and not your cat.
This garbage story is the equivalent of âmy cat ate my homeworkâ lol.
Player behavior was why it was added in the first place soâŠ
no?
Once upon a time there was zero punishment for getting kicked from groups and it encouraged the absolute worst behavior in people.
A catâs paw is not heavy enough to shut the power off of any modern notebook or laptop simply by stepping on it and almost all computer towers have their power buttons on the front and not the top so a cat could not step on that, and nearly all computers now days donât shut down completely from one slightly little tap on the power button. Even try it right now and tap your own power buttonâŠit wont shut down with just a tiny tap on any modern PC. Story seems fabricated. He was booted for other reasons.
