I will continue to make a weekly blog post until blizzard finally understands that Shadow Priest IS NOT VIABLE IN PVP. IT IS ONE OF THE WORST SPECS TO PLAY IN ARENAS. LITERALLY NO ONE STREAMS SHADOW PRIEST NOR MAKES CONTENT AND ITS NO SURPRISE.

Nerf the oppresive melee (rogue arms unh havoc) and devastation sp will see more play and then we can go to full caster meta at the end of the expansion (just like everyvsingle expansion since wod)
Spriest is a really good caster just hard to play.
Its not good in solo shuffle though with how theirs zero coordination and high damp
Every spec is viable
Not every spec is S tier

Sorry but spriest is pumping. It’s the design that sucks. When they’re not over tuned they’re dog water to most players. Needs another rework.
SP are crazy strong in caster vs caster lobbies or melee/caster/x lobbies. Be happy about that at least!
Do yourself a favor and just reroll. I mean this genuinely. It’s an exercise in futility asking for yet another Shadow Priest rework. And yes, it needs another rework from top to bottom. It’s a disaster and I have a feeling they aren’t going to do anything substantial about it until War Within (I could be wrong but that’s my gut feeling).
With Warbands coming soon (in the summer), having alts will be easy, and you can just go back to your Priest when they fix them since your progress will be shared.
Thats really not a good excuse. You could say that about literally any spec in the game. Nobody thinks Frost DK is an amazing spec, yet, there are FDK’s high rated. Yah, they can make it work. Still a trash spec though. There is always a good enough player that can make the worst specs work. This is the most awful spec viability argument.
It doesn’t need a rework. It just needs Angelic Feather removed from the SP kit and a new form of mobility added. Done. Does NOT need a rework.
This is no excuse for bad class design. Sorry!!

spriest is in a really good spot
great utility, great damage, access to an S tier comp (splay)
you are losing because the way you play spriest in particular is inviable
It is viable plenty of people doing “well” with it.
You just have to: try 50% harder than most people, 100% harder than warriors and DH’s to achieve the same results.
And just play like an absolute tool. Constantly kiting around and dragging people away from their healers till they give up and go your partner.
Then you get to have fun.
splay has a lower skillfloor than every warrior cleave in the game
that is literally the entire point and skillcap of playing wizards in wow arena
this alone is the reason wizards are always advantaged over melee when played properly
if you want to plant and turret play unholy dk or something
TSG and Ret war and just as brain dead don’t lie. And in both comps the ret and dk are doing most of the work other than the occasional fear and off target storm bolt.
Warriors are pretty brain dead right now unless they are trying to survive Frost mage.
I read your post history. Do you just have a natural proclivity to be a contrarian and disagree with anything anyone ever says? Genuinely curious. Every single post I see you in you hold the opposing view to whoever you’re replying to. Maybe you actively seek things in which you disagree with so it just looks like all you do is hold the contrary position. Just made me laugh a little reading this I guess lol.
Shadow arguably has it much worst due to lack of mobility. Catch them in the open and they can’t ever push up or back. Positioning is probably the biggest skill cap for Spriest and it’s not even remotely close for the rest of the casters.
It should also be one of the first things you should try to be better at before complaining on the forums

warrior is a goalie with mostly melee ranged tools that require significantly more thought than specs like ret that play almost entirely reactively

the forums in particular attract 2 different types of players
1 - players who are passionate enough about the game to want to discuss it ambiently (the minority)
2 - players who are frustrated and want to vent (the majority)
the second catagory is made up almost exclusively of players with virtually 0 experience playing extremely strong specs complaining about other specs that they don’t understand because they lose the majority of their solo shuffle games to their own misplays that they aren’t good enough to recognize and reflect on
it’s defo more the role of an elementary school teacher than it is a contrarian lmao
