Disagreeing with OP does not make me a proponent for Blizz. The world is not black and white.
because they should have to live with their decisions. persistence is what makes MMOs fun. Other players who know you as a certain race should not be punished because you’re failing at character creation.

There can actually be a variety of reasons.
1.) they cant afford the same service, gatekeeping with a paywall. As we all know your IRL financial success should have nothing to do with the status of your in game mmo character right?
really… just give us what you told us we would get stop the delay… its not too hard just do it
It’s a marketing strategy genius. Why would they release it at the same time as faction change when they can wait to release it and get another burst of $$$

There is zero financial benefit to withholding it. I promise you the developers on the classic wow team are being pressured to get it in the game as soon as possible by the bean counters that run the show. The only reason it isnt in yet is their team is small and unable to code it into this amalgamation that is the classic client. It’s not flipping a switch to turn it on, this isnt wotlk you actually have to develop a new service to work within this spaghetti code.
It should be in the game, but the reason isnt some under some tinfoil hat, its ineptitude lol.

Nah you are blind, They release faction change first knowing the realm issues and IF you take a faction change you get sent to the dead side of your realm and then you have to pay realm transfer again. If they released race change which genuinely seems to be what people want more of the two that would take away from all the people who would be willing to just do the faction change as its the new blue post thing… why launch it all at once when you can get the waves of income twice? they would take away from each other if done at the same time.

When they tell us a pair of features will be coming, then one of the features comes (without any sort of announcement btw), people wonder when the other one will be available. This happens because Blizzard’s communication is exceedingly poor.

AFTER they announced today that faerlina/bene and the EU servers are getting free transfers between them for faction change bump i suspect we will get race change AFTER they get all their money from faction change - And to the guys above who said this wasnt about money lol… they just proved it because they wernt getting enough faction changes on the BIG realms because people didnt want to pay twice so they removed the transfer fee - someone please tell me how they care about realm health when they just gave a death knell to the parse/world first ally guilds that are now all moving to horde
