Another season... Another Night Elf meta

I leveled my 3rd Druid HMT after I saw you talking about it a couple months ago, and I agree I do really like the racials especially on boomy

HMT fdk that charged with uber pillar up was unexpected

And this potion just turned Nelf in one of the worst race for m+.

They should just had nerfed it if it was so OP.

But Im an advocate for removing racial aince TBC.

For some reason I keep hearing the “nerf Shadowmeld” in my head, set to the “Blame Canada” song from southpark.

Yeah that racial when I was trying as a range is pretty damn powerful. The charge has a longer range than it seems, much longer, is just playing as a cow has some of it’s own visual nerfs for some players since it seems everyone loves playing elfs :face_vomiting:.

Yeah if nelf could be shaman I’d only play that even when shadowmeld is terrible for enh. I have a name/boost saved for the day :dracthyr_cry_animated:

The charge is good but the healing absorb is even better. Nothing properly tracks it though so flies under the radar.

Is it really an issue for non druids rogues ?

Don’t forget hunters!

I think that the issue is magnified at higher rankings probably (which I don’t play at obviously)

Gaining the max benefit from shadowmeld is something I certainly wouldn’t be able to do, and the lower ratings I play at I’ve never seen anyone use it to great benefit. For those still learning or playing at a lower skill level (unless they are playing a class that can restealth to utilize that benefit easily) another racial can be a lot better

Using it to avoid incoming attacks/crowd control? I am definitely not capable of doing that reliably yet. I would bet a lot of players aren’t. So it definitely loses value in those cases

Well, no, because now the racial is a combat potion cd. As it sort of was before. Meld still giga for either dodging deadly abilities or skips (misery or just dragging minibosses out of the way).

See most races don’t really contribute anything to a dungeon scenario whereas nelf offers a lot of things alongside dwarf with their dispel self button.

Most other options underwhelming/niche.

Wait you mean the damage reduction right??

It’s looks like it’s calculated based on stamina. I might be wrong though.

Correct and thanks, I meant damage reduction. But yeah details doesn’t track it and I don’t think even the scoreboards at end of arena/bg’s do either.

How would you propose they balance Shadowmeld?

My suggestions:

  • Does not drop combat
  • 2.5 second cast time (PvP Only)

Or better yet, make it as long as a Greater Pyro cast, lol!

Ha. Good one.

NERF SHADOWMELD ALREADY (PART 14)

Just make it not break combat already

Eh I’m kinda okay with the breaking combat part
It’s the immune to things already in the air that’s the problem. Also is the problematic part when cheaters use scripting.

I mean the way it works in keys it can’t be unless they render is unusable in combat and in pvp it’ll always be a problem for drinks, druids and rogues. :dracthyr_a1: The only “fix” is probably making it so it can’t be used in combat and then then the night elf players will do to blizz social media what sylv did to teldrassil.

Honestly coolest thing about the racial is the casual qol of being able to drop combat out in the world if you get bugged or just have a mob that’ll take 30 seconds to catch up and I wish we had an item that replaced it.

I don’t think i’ve ever seen this the entire xpac. Unless I’m facing an rdruid/destro i’d rather be on any other race generally. I meld stuff all the time and people call me a cheater. Just kinda feels cringe to get outplayed and then immediatly go “OH SHES CHEATING”

idk to me the most powerful thing is the free re-stealth followed by a fast stun. Just kinda makes rogue/druid feel even more unkillable and much harder to deal with

“oh cool this is his 3rd vanish in 45 seconds”

It is powerful for those two for sure
Still I think it’s worse for any other class to be able to immune a stormbolt or something. That seems way more powerful.

I’m bad so I wouldn’t know

Yeah I dunno
Rogues and druids are pretty annoying even without it? Like whazz playing orc rogue in the finals of the AWC. Litterally never looked like he was gonna die

orc is really strong in the mirror that’s why he’s playing it (I’m assuming)

You pretty much can’t die to a setup if you prefeint w/ orc
