It wasn’t that good. Not even close.
Their damage was insane. We could easily get one shot as lowbies. Max levels didn’t. Your memory is off.
Sorry, but if max levels weren’t protecting the lowbies or healing them, they weren’t going to waste seventeen deaths for nothing.
What a weird hill to die on.
People are more likely gonna want to be at level for the new content at launch. If they want to level through everything in DF they still have that option.
Then level with the current massive exp buff we have right now. I’m not seeing an issue here.
Ulda isn’t in the rotation for season 1 of dragonflight, so you won’t be doing it over and over at lvl 70. At least until it gets added into the rotation, later into the xpac.
Ok, that plate set looks amazing, I am so glad blizzard decided to include some “normal” looking armor in game.
I agree that the leather set and the plate set are the best. The chain is ok, but that helmet has to go. The top of the helmet looks like it was from a Stargate design for the Anubis guards’ helmets. I’ve seen it else wear but can’t place the design period. Still think the game could benefit from an EQ Alchemy skill that allowed players to make armor dyes so people could recolor their armor to give more unique styles.
I didn’t. I guess I have to say it again: the damage SCALED. So… no… if you were getting one-shot, that’s a you problem. Each boss had an ability you had to avoid and, look at the average WoW player: they stand in bad, don’t interrupt, don’t do or rather REFUSE to do basic mechanics. But if you avoided those mechanics, they hurt BAD, but they didn’t kill you.
I’m not dying on any hill. Just pointing out the facts. Damage scales. It’s avoidable. If you avoid it, you live; if you don’t, you die. Just like everything else in the game. It’s not like either one of us is remembering the event right or wrong, but I can tell which one of us did mechanics. gg
edit: And before you start frantically typing your reply, don’t forget to include some kind of remark on the guy that said the lowbies CARRIED THE EVENT!!!
Oh… but they got 1-shot, right?? lol Which is it??? hahahhaaha
I can’t believe they make content for everyone now. Everyone needs to only enjoy what I enjoy or else"
Weird take
Some don’t want to level through Shadowlands content. A lot of people are tired of the expac. If you don’t want an xp buff in pre-patch then just stay in Classic.
Most newcomers probably wouldn’t know what a trinket is or how it impacts how they play the game. By the time they figure that out we will be well into the new expansion.
“Because trust me, lowbies are a bunch of leeches who would always do this if given the chance. Therefore they deserve punishment to show them what we really feel about them.”
You sound like that kind of guy who sees someone coming when they elite is almost dead and quick finishes it off because that player might be a casual or have bad gear and not deserve to tag it.
The “max level characters waiting around” thing was actually a big “complaint” during the Legion prepatch, odd that you would bring that up. In fact there were a lot of complaints that were used as justification for nerfing the invasions that were clearly false. I never observed them happening.
In fact, after many such complaints about max level players leeching, they made changes that only inconvenienced lowbies, and made the best strat for getting benefits for max level players hanging out nearby and not taking part.
I did a lot of those invasions. You seem to be working on the old script.
I wasn’t going to grind this event, but that blue tint on the gear really makes it pop…
Which looking back on it now was actually an extremely good thing in the long run for an expansion like Legion, because the entire fun of that expansion was experiencing the different class hall campaigns and such. So people had alts ready to go to do that, it literally made the expansion better because of it.
Disregarding all the boorish assumptions you made about me, please explain what it is that max-level players are “leeching.”
And while you’re at it, let’s add you to the list of people ignoring the claims that “lowbies were 1-shot” and that “lowbies carried the event.”
But you choose to insult me? ok…
How long is pre patch? How long does it take to get to 50-60? What level should someone be to enter Dragonflight content?
Someone who truly has no max level characters is usually pretty overwhelmed and involved in leveling content. People would need to explain how to get to some of these spots. And so far it looks like the only rewards are catch up gear and a toy.
Seems like the more relevant question is, is there any reason for max level characters to comeback before launch?
My feeling is that they felt that fun and participation were out of control. They don’t seem to like it when a sense of community spontaneously forms among people who are having fun together. And there was a real sense of community in those invasions.
The most recent example I can think of is the anniversary event that gave a 1% chance of a mount drop. Even the first day there were masses of players sending alts there to farm that overtuned monster that was going to one shot all the lowbies. There was a sense of community, a “See your next alt on my next alt!” thing. And on day 2 they had changed the drop rate to 100%.
Coincidence? Maybe.
Level to 50 now with the buff, then level the last 10 in whatever expansion you want during pre-patch. The exp changes will be in at that point, significantly easing that stretch of leveling as a sort of buff (at least relative to normal).
Nice strawman. I didn’t say anything like that.
It would be nice at this point to have the details on how that will work. Like, implement it in the beta and let people test it.
You are arguing against prepatch xp and then say for people to level during prepatch…
