Sooo, just wanting to know when you’re going to make Black Lotus a random chance from any 270+ herb?
Not to be “that guy” but your change didn’t do anything but shock the market until the known “farmers” added more personnel and figured out the “new locations”.
Black Lotus will climb back to pre-change levels(which it already has on some servers) once they’ve figured the majority of spawns out.
The whole “must be 300 herb to see nodes while dead” is an absolute joke. What is that, like 12hrs of boosting to 35 and a few hours of running herb circles?
Other suggestions:
-just make a flask vendor.
TRUST that alchemists ain’t getting rich off making flasks so any argument founded on it trashing the profession isn’t based in reality.
-as mentioned previously, make it a random chance off any lvl 270+ herb. (this also increases the amount of zones it can drop in, easing the pain of watching the Black Lotus Kentucky Derby in EPL and Silithus
Additionally, the change you made caused a price shock in Arcane Crystal/Arcanite bars; which is obviously a reflection of the lack of faith in the value of gold (because it has been obliterated by said Lotus farming and boosting). I can’t really think of another reason considering you can farm 3 RTV’s in DME nonstop for Arcane crystals…

Tell me, how do I improve from new gathermate 2 data, running the circuit on max speed with mount, at multiple times throughout the day, with 10-15 other people in each zone doing the exact same thing, looking for a random spawn on a random timer.

You improve you skills by using your community, your guilds herbalist network.
Get 5-10 of your guildies to run the circle at different spots to help ensure you get the most out of all your time by cornering the zone respawn with help from your guild. Then you can note the times herbs were picked and make sure a guildy is there to pick it as it spawns.
Classic isn’t just about YOU, it’s about your community. Create a network with your guild herbalist and work together to control a zone.
Sorry going to laugh at this suggestion. You honestly think 5-10 guild members are going to waste their time running around looking for herbs everyday for hours of their precious game time. How many times have you been online asking for help to do a 35 minute dungeon and all you hear is crickets.
I happened to be standing at the spot at mid twilight camp yesterday and the lotus spawned. Luckily no one was there at the time. I have a hard time seeing plants on the ground for some reason so it took me about 10 seconds, which felt like eternity trying to find this plant. When out of no where a guy comes running up right as I was clicking on it trying to steal it. I was also getting hit by boulders from a twilight I aggroed. I had never seen this guy ever in the zone. And he was gone just as fast as he spawned in. Logged off. How did he know the Lotus was there? He had a level 35 dead guy? Maybe. Was super creepy though.
We have done dungeons to get enchanting materials, herbs, ore. We do jump runs and have a Miner tank, I’m a herbalist enchanter, then we get a healer and we 3 man jump runs with boss kills to get the herbs, ore and enchanting mats which get used for raids for potions, enchants (stocking for wizard and Mana oil) and engineering bombs.
We also do dungeons for dark runes, the dire maul seedlings (very useful on some raid mechanics) exc.
Just because your in a guild that doesn’t act like a guild, doesn’t mean all guilds are like that.
Its really not that hard to farm 240g in a week for a flask of supreme power. If you cant afford a flask at this point then you arent trying that hard. Also there are spawn points for black lotus in spots you would be in anyways farming things. I have picked three black lotus so far since the new change since they just spawn next to me while grinding rep in silithus or grinding firewater in winterspring. There does not need to be any more changes to black lotus for the players that are too lazy to farm a flask. If they make flask even easier than they are at the moment to get I will be slightly annoyed.
Black Lotus is a rare resource. You don’t need it to clear content. Deal with it.
You already cried once and ((Blizzard)) listened. And you still won’t stop… you casuals are never happy.
The reason why you are not getting Black Lotus is because there are other people out there more committed than you to the task (same also probably happened before the nerf). You either gotta step up your herb game or go farm the gold and buy it if you really want it.
You know black lotus is supposed to be rare right?? this change wasn’t about making it so its supper easy that every one can get banks full of them so that you can stay flasked the whole time you are playing for what ever reason it was more about just bringing the lotus in line with the server population, but it is still supposed to be a rare thing to find.
Just sold one for 60g on my server. Not everything in an MMO needs to be easy OR abundant. In fact making things easier to acquire ruins it imo. Inb4 but mah mega server pop… then leave your mega server.
Right. So basically zero refuting arguments, bunch of salt and “move servers”. Got it. Post was meant more for the moderators/devs, but thanks to each and everyone of you for responses. They truly signify the importance of “community”.
To be fair there was an actual issue with lotus. Servers are way bigger than legit vanilla ones were. So regardless of anyone’s “skill” lotus was significantly more rare than it was ever intended to be. The latest change brings it more in line with the way it was originally intended.
The other option would have been permanent layering.
