Can’t even fill a dungeon group on a Friday in 10 minutes.
okay bye then.
keep in mind, and this has happened before, that when other expansions have patches or releases more often than not people switch over for a time playing that new content. Midnight likely pulled many over to play there for now just like when Legion pulled a lot from other places.
Not sure what LFR has to do with this game version being dead?
Very confused as to what the purpose on this thread is lol.
more people might still be playing if they had LFR to do?
And you wanted LFR lol
lol nope
celestial ques are less then 5 mins unless its 4am.. theres just not a huge amount of alt / low level queuing ever the brackets for levels are to split..so quest till 90 sorry
I would say the lack of LFR directly contributed to MOP falling off. Not a HUGE reason why (dev abandonment and terrible class changes are the key factors) but it was there. Lets face it.. a lot of us love Cel’s because they gear you out so fast. Its great. It does have a down side though, if you do not have existing pipe lines to move up with. If you are fairly casual it pretty rapidly gets you near your max out point. Pugs/GDKPs eventually start to demand more and more item level and experience so unless you get swept into early or have a main that indicates you are not casual you are just kind of out of options. Sure, a mercy or desperation invite might happen last second to get a run going but odds are that person just has a terrible time as people rip them apart for performance or they find themselves getting replaced the second Jimmy logs in to do so.
So what does the casual player base do once you find these walls? They quit. Casuals always make up a vast majority of the player base weather anyone likes to admit it or not. This run of classic progression servers only took the voice of hardcore players that stream 6 raids a week and no life challenge modes as gospel and it got totally destroyed for it. This worked in Classic, TBC, and Wrath because the game still always gives those players something to do. WOTLK had the side by side 10 mans.. TBC always has Kara and the pervious tiers raids you can do with catch up, and Vanilla is just so easy anyone can do it and the gear is horizonal enough that even if you are a tier behind you can have a good time.
LFR was kind of that void filler for casuals in Cata and beyond. They clipped it. Sure the Cel’s gave these casuals massive dope hits at the start of each phase but eventually the pattern was figured out.. by the end of the week they got everything and its either quit or moved on to other versions that let them be casual.
thats not true. On a friday night 11pm i was in queue for 11 minutes as a dps and nothing. LFR would never fill unless it was tuesday or wednesday.
Hmm, let’s see…
TBC Anniversary is in full swing
Midnight just released
We’re nearly 4 months into the current tier
Classic progression is being treated like the red-headed stepchild version of the game
I wonder why activity could possibly be low right now…
This is 99% the reason. All of the other reasons myself and others have opined on are simply a drop in the bucket actually.
I would still be playing TBC anni 6 months of ToT pushed me away from mop.
Am I under some legal obligation to queue for Celestials or something?
Not having LFR is the one reason why you have so high queue times. What are you on about?
Casuals don’t play MoP anymore. They can play baby mode TBC or casual content in retail as Midnight just released. What is there to do as casual in MoP? Another 6 months of amazing MoP Celestials, woaw!
They can play TBC if they want to swipe like mad or want to play the game farming raw gold 8 hours a day to level their professions. As long as they don’t interfere with the bot farms.. other wise.. welcome to the mass report train.
Hi! I have lots to do.
I would argue that casuals (depending on your definition) are less likely to run out of things to do, because we are months behind the hardcore people who live and breathe WoW. That’s what happens when you dedicate a truly hobby-level amount of time to a hobby. ![]()
I’ve got a 5-man family party we’ve been leveling (from 1) via dungeons one night a week since MoP launched. We just hit 90, so we’re just starting celestials now.
Husband and I leveled a few characters outside that party, we’re mostly doing low-rated-for-lols arena to get their PVP gear, and Wintergrasp for fun.
I do some pet stuff when I have extra time to play, because I enjoy that. I’m not doing rep grinds or dailies or anything I don’t find fun, because hobby. If I wanted chores I would play retail, or clean out my closets. I miss the city raids on Grob, but plenty to do and still having a ton of fun.
For the record, I could not possibly have less interest in LFR and don’t care whether it’s in the game or not.
Edit: I will however run out of stuff to do when everybody else does, because nobody will be queueing for PVP anymore. 2v2 queues have been instant or very short, but I can’t see that lasting until summer.
