[quote]If you don't want sharding in starting zones then wait a couple of days for Blizzard to get rid of it.
Except we know they won't be getting rid of it. We've seen the same sort of situation too many times over the past few years with Blizzard. There will be a string of excuses about why it's still necessary. Players will either get used to it or they will end up quitting.
Come back a year from now and watch all the excuses being given at Blizzcon about why sharding is still active in Classic.

So wait another week after it comes out and then play.
Those that don't like sharding can wait until it is turned off and then play.
Those that don't like sharding are why we are getting this to begin with.
That initial drop of the game is the biggest part of community building in wow. Shard that you miss it. Wait til sharding is off (if ever) you miss it because everyone is now spread. If you wait and get you're "tolerable" starting questing a week later you miss a week a play, oh well you're one person. Missing the community building in the beginning is like building a house on a cracked foundation.

You've seen the future? Cool. You should show the rest of us that trick.

Good thing that you can still talk to everyone in the zone through General chat and group with them to build community, isn't it?

You don't need to . Just look at the past. Blizz has a history of saying "A" and then doing "B".

Havent seen the future,we've seen the past.
Citation? It's called we have all this BS now and that's why many of the people here are either unsubbed or don't like it. We've pushed to get back the vanilla game, not semivanilla with some changes.
A. You have a limit of amount of posts at a time. B. Most of the friends I make are from running around, seeing them doing what I'm doing and grouping. Not spamming general looking for a group for every quest.

Adapt or don't play.

Doesn't mean that it will happen with Classic.
Stop fear mongering.

Exactly my point to you bud. You won't adapt, you want the game to adapt.
Solution: Don't play the game until the sharding is disabled. Then everyone is happy!

Ill stop you right there. Why even play classic wow then? If they are going to lie about this then why would you waste your time trusting them in making it vanilla at all? With this logic, what if they don't use 1.12 and just decide to use 7.3.5 and add dks and monks and wow tokens and cash shops and paid level 60 boosts?
Seriously, if you ACTUALLY believe that they will go back on their word on something like this then why would you even waste your time on classic? Honest question

yeah..there's always a first time. Maybe wow classic will be their first time that they do what they say.
But no one knows for sure.

That argument can be used both ways, but only one of the two arguments is consistent with Vanilla.
This is not truly Vanilla, so it's neither here nor there.

I believe that they will go back on their word on this because they have gone back on their word on exactly this, in exactly this circumstance, with exactly these reasons, before.
Seriously, read up on what they have said about sharding on RP servers. They know sharding is bad for community. They promised not to use it on RP servers except when absolutely needed.
It is still active on RP servers. They never turned it off.
This is not doomsaying. It is not slippery slope. This is "They said exactly this once before, and they did not live up to it." Why should I expect anything different this time?

the game isn't out yet. There's still 9-10 months.
If Blizz can see from our forum comments just how many are opposed to it maybe they will look for another way. Plenty of youtubes and scenarios have been posted here and it gives the devs proof of what's happening and maybe food for thought.
It's fighting the good fight. And if it's in an turned on, oh well then at least those of us that didn't want it gave our best shot.

Because they want to kick and scream about something they are certainly going to play, anyway.

Hey man these guys don't care. They are the just believe and don't learn from the past mentality.
It's like well I am allergic to strawberries, ate them once and almost died. But this time I believe I'll be ok so I'll eat one.
Exactly my point to you bud. You won't adapt, you want the game to adapt.
The game is adapting. :)
It's you who doesn't like it.
I don't have to want the game to adapt, they are adapting the game for the modern audience. (Those that will play Classic at launch that already have a sub, and those that are coming back to WoW at Classic launch.)

Adapting for the "modern audience" which has all these things already and yet is a fraction of what the old audeince was...seems legit.

Proves what exactly?
This is not doomsaying.
You are correct. It is fear-mongering.
how many are opposed to it
Isn't nearly as many as you think. Especially since they look at other places as well, and this is about the only place I've seen so many negative posts about sharding at launch.
It's like well I am allergic to strawberries, ate them once and almost died. But this time I believe I'll be ok so I'll eat one.
Apples to oranges man, apples to oranges.

Is legit. Otherwise, they would have simply loaded up the 1.12 server software, offered the 1.12 client w/o putting it in battle.net, and been done with it.
Because the "modern audience" is not only people coming back to WoW for Classic servers, but those already playing on Modern servers as well. Hence the combined sub for all of World of Warcraft. :)
Simple.
