“There is stuff I want but I dont want to do the content required to get it”
Thats a you problem. Look kiddo. This is optional content and in no way required. Dont like it? Dont do it. Its that simple. I didnt like Plunderstorm because I dislike battle royal games. So I didnt do it.
No its a differant server and works like the PTR without a character copy. Think of it as a separate game but anything earned in said game you keep in Retail. So you make a NEW toon there but instead of leveling 1-10 you start at 10. You will also level to max level MUCH faster. May take a few hours to hit max level. Instead of days.
I’m excited for this. It sounds like an opportunity to be overpowered without having to worry about crafting and stats and things that have long term impacts in the game.
It sounds fun…with the extra bonus of items we don’t currently have to transfer to retail.
As a mount collector, I deeply understand the desire to take every opportunity to get all the things. However, you have to balance with getting the things you want with how that time spent affects you.
There are some mounts I will never get because I didn’t push the content required at the time. I wasn’t about to make myself miserable trying to accomplish certain content, like the early Mythic Keystone mounts. My anxiety and lack of a dedicated group was overwhelming at the time and it simply wasn’t worth it.
I like the idea of trying different things. I wasn’t a huge fan of Plunderstorm, because I’m bad at it, but I appreciate the creativity.
You could always, you know, do something else lol.
I’m not bothering with it, I’m farming the Into the Light update in Destiny currently which extends into The Final Shapes release in the first week of June, then I’ll be on that. Then Dawntrail comes out at the end of June so I’ll be on that.
Got plenty to do without having to re-farm Mists garbage.
Local snake oil sales girl here coming at ya with a new product I like to call “Don’t Do It.” It’s your #1 solution to most of these kinds of problems!
If this Pandaria event pulls me in and entertains me for 200 hours, I’ll consider DF a success just based on this event alone. I spend $20 going to the theater to watch a 2 hour movie and consider that good for my money, let alone 200 hours of something that I will hopefully enjoy.
I am looking forward to an event I can do with my guild. I am glad Blizz is trying new things but they will not please everyone.
I tried Plunderstorm and quit after rep level 4 because I did not enjoy it. I am also a collector but decided it wasn’t worth the stress for another mount, mogs and titles.
As I am paying for this game, I do things I enjoy. Simple as that.
This is what you can expect for a while now considering microsoft’s acquisition. People thought microsoft might improve the experience but just like the last boss, they only seek to milk it. Gain more marketshare with short quarterly fluxes.
I tried it but I could never get it to work right. I tried it at the big forge, I enlarged, I did everything every source told me to but would only hit for a measly 200-250 damage. I was expecting 1500-2000.
I missed MoP unfortunately, but this event sounds pretty fun, and I’ve wanted to run older raids for a while now. Sure I can still run them in DF, but it’s not the same when everything just dies in 1 hit, I guess I could also run them in classic, but I don’t really like classic either. So this sounds like my chance to get to “really” experience the raids among other things, so I hope I’ll like it.
I also hope I like it because I didn’t like Plunderstorm, but played through it anyway because I liked this transmog, and there are a lot of things I want in this new event, and it sounds like they might take a little longer to get. Lol
The only achievement I have left on steam is to beat Honor Mode, but my game keeps crashing while I try to play and idk why
You don’t have to play it…? not to mention, it’s an expedited experience. Faster leveling, and gear acquisition. Not to mention it looks like a LARGE portion of the cosmetics and mounts will be attained through the new currency system with only a few being attached to bosses and raids.
there is no problem with Blizzard trying to do something different, and reward people for their time.
They have already mentioned in multiple posts that all cosmetics, mounts and achievements will Xfer over to live at the start of TWW. So everything earned will be as if you earned them in retail.
It’s not a classic version. It’s tied to retail, you’re just doing and advanced version of chromie time…
