An Update on Shadowlands

Fine by me, it’s unacceptable to delay 3 weeks before launch.

And this has nothing to do with the damn pandemic, if it did they wouldn’t have announced the date just a month ago.

Just sucks we have to play a bad xpac leading up to sl im glad they delayed but I wish it was legion vs bfa

He’s a bit mad, but he does have a point.

I am glad they delayed it, seems to be the right choice. Should they have announced the date when they weren’t sure? Probably not. Should they have been more open? Absolutely.

I am pretty sure they knew they would have to delay way before today, and they should’ve said so then.

I respect this decision and it honestly shows integrity that I didn’t know the company still had. This is a decision Blizzard would have made in the early-to-mid 2000s.

Give me a good product. I want a good gaming experience. I want to be immersed and not sit around at the end game of a fresh expansion, wondering if I should level another alt or find another game, like I did with BFA. Take as long as you need (but not too long, because we still have that meteor that might hit us in November!).

I only have one request.

Can we maybe get an extension on the rep bonuses until it drops? Since I’m going to be leveling alts for a bit from 10/13 on, it would be really swell if I could catch their reps up a little quicker.

Keep up the good work, guys.

Because I disagree that the game needs much improvement.
Been playing beta for months and outside of bugs everything seems great.

Meanwhile trying to keep a raiding guild together in BFA is unbelievably stressful.

This is a crushing blow.
Let’s hope its worth it, because I’m not sure what possibly could change.

Your delay isn’t going to fix the fundamental problems Covenants have. Imagine how much easier your jobs would’ve been if you didn’t bloat the game with all these dumb power systems.

Excellent decision. I can wait as long as it takes to be ready to go.

Are you a literal child? You paid for access time. You can still play.

Blizzard isn’t going to refund you because of your work habits.

If I had to guess…

They’re taking more time to invest into the Maw, re-addressing the conduit CD, and probably (might) remove covenant class abilities altogether.

And here I stand corrected. I honestly didn’t think you guys had it in you to keep a game from release for polish reasons Blizz. Thank you for proving me wrong in this situation. This gives me much more hope for the balancing issues when the game launches.

Chill out, bro. You still get your time off, it’s not like your vacation is ruined. Just do something else with your time instead.

How this should read: “Waahhh the world doesn’t revolve around me and my decisions so now I’m going to throw a tantrum!”

It is going to get much much worse when you realize that we’re going to have a pre-patch lasting 2-3 months and half your guild unsubs and a lot of them never come back

Good Job Blizzard! You made the right decision in delaying the release of SL. Please def take the time to work on correcting the issues that have been addressed by some great Beta testers with some classes, leveling issues, and some of the issues of the new system as well. Thanks again.

You do understand the sun is the center of the solar system, not you or others that made poor decisions and took time off, right?

Blizzard wasted my booked time off for the release. So fxxx u and I demand my money back for the meaningless subscription time.

this is great move on blizzard. while playing on beta. the mobs. areas quests etc. still feel unfinished. blizzard definitely needs more time. please take as much time as you need blizzard

Good decision Bliz, take your time. I would rather wait longer for a better experience.

A+ decision.

This is a good move so long as you use the time for what is actually necessary which is

  1. Class polish and tuning (some classes need some big work eg. UH DKs ~25% downtime on a 5 min fight)
  2. Soulbind trees (some getting potency conduits earlier than others)
  3. Rebalancing Conduits (some are great, some are useless)
  4. Legendary pattern acquisition (world bosses…1 chance a month?)
  5. Covenant power tuning (some still need some work)
    And lastly, most importantly…
  6. Listen to your playerbase, most of the time your players are doing your creative work for you in terms of ability revamps and suggestions on how to tune. Use that, there is 0 shame in using this information provided by your playerbase.

It’s kinda funny how many people are assuming their pet grievance is what’s going to change in the delay.
